Weight Loss Spell

As I write this in January, and 'tis the season of dieting. The over-indulgent feeding frenzy of the holiday season is over, the decorations are (or soon will be) put away in their boxes and life goes back to normal. We get to thinking about the New Year’s Resolutions we've made (or wish that we made)—for most people that includes losing weight. Weight loss is one of the most common resolutions people make— though statistics show a lot of people have already given up by now. Hey—the year is young! Just because you didn't run out of the gate without stumbling doesn't mean the race is over.

Now that I think about it, every season seems to be losing weight season-- as spring approaches we want to get our swimsuit bodies back, in the fall we want to take off those summer pounds. It never ends!

If you're looking for a weight loss spell, every month you have another chance. The full moon is the perfect timing to cast a spell for losing weight!

A Secret You Need to Know Before Casting

Let’s say there was a big pile of bricks in your yard, and they were completely useless to you. You want to get rid of them by putting the by the curb where the trash or someone in need of bricks might pick them up.

Imagine trying to pick up the entire, towering pile of bricks all at once. It would be ridiculous, right? Naturally the best way for you to move the bricks would be one at a time. Yes, it would take a bit longer, and it would still take effort—but it’s something you can actually accomplish.

People generally want to learn Witchcraft to bring changes to their lives. Sometimes they try spells and get very discouraged that they didn’t get the desired results. They might cast a weight loss spell to lose all their excess pounds, then get angry that it fails. This is equivalent to trying to move a whole pile of bricks at once.

The secret to losing weight with Witchcraft is the same secret for moving a pile of bricks: instead of trying to do it all in one go, do it in increments.

Diet Spell Preparation

On Wednesday, the day of the full moon, it’s a good idea to fast to prepare for this spell and your weight loss efforts.Only go on a full fast if you’re in great health and are up to the task. The point is not to make yourself sick, but to detox a bit.

Most people can get by with a light fast. It’s ideal if you just have a liquid diet for the day—natural juices, herbal teas (avoid sugar, but honey or stevia is okay), and vegetable broth.

If you need something with a little more substance for the day, eat a light salad with veggies and just a squirt of lemon juice, or a tiny splash of vinegar and olive oil.

What You Need to Cast Spell

What You Need
A new roll of toilet paper
Yes, I'm serious
A pomegranite or lime
As an offering
Usual ritual tools/supplies for esbats
Spell Components

Practical magic: use what works.
Practical magic: use what works. | Source

Casting the Spell

Bring the toilet paper to your esbat altar (and please watch it around any candles or incense!). If you’re not doing a full blown esbat, you can bring it to your shrine or whatever working altar you wish to set up. If you don’t have a shrine or altar at all, just go somewhere quiet and comfortable with it—such as by a window that overlooks the moon, or go sit outside in a natural area where you have some privacy (yes, you can put the toilet paper in a bag; no one has to know).

When you’re at the point of ritual in which you’re ready to cast, or when you’re ready to begin the spell, follow these steps:

  1. Cleanse and consecrate the roll of toilet paper.
  2. Relax and put your focus in the moment. Take a few deep breaths and then get into a rhythmic
  3. Invoke the Goddess Venus. If you like, you can use the ancient Orphic Hymns— click here for the 18th century English translation.
  4. Tell Venus of your need to lose weight and ask for her assistance.
  5. Meditate and visualize yourself at your goal weight. If you prefer guided meditations, try the one below
  6. Hold the toilet paper and charge it with your intent to lose weight. Ask for Venus’ blessings upon it (yes, once again, I am serious).
  7. Make an offering to Venus and thank Her.

Congratulations—your toilet paper roll is now charged with your purpose and ready for you to use.

How to Lose Weight with This Spell

This toilet paper's purpose is going to be different from any other roll's purpose, so make sure you put it in a safe place. Stash it in a bag under the counter, in a cosmetic case or somewhere no one else will get to it. If you live with people and don't want to risk someone grabbing it, put it away in a bedroom drawer or closet.

Take one square of toilet paper and write on it "one pound". Visualize yourself thinner like you did in your original meditation.

Flush the toilet paper to rid yourself of that pound you don’t want. As the single square gets sucked down the drain, imagine your fat – one ‘brick’ at a time – leaving you. Then focus for the next few days on losing that pound.

After you've lost that pound, when you're ready, do it again to lose another pound. And again to lose another pound. It may be little by little, but eventually it mounts up. Work your weight loss magic until you reach your goal weight.

Hi Estee; I tend to return natural spell components to the Earth (safely). Something natural like fruit would get buried in the ground, thrown on a compost pile, or tossed in a body of water. In this case it's an offering to Venus so I would put it in water (her element) or just outside by a tree to decompose.

Of course you always have to be careful about the environment when disposing of things, but natural stuff like food is fine to just return to nature.

I am looking over witch books so I am brand new, I was reading over some of the questions: like do we need a full moon to keep doing the ritual. Also, I have roughly 125 lbs to go. Also, I wanted to know if this could be used weight also for thyroids issues. Please answer as I feel like a can barely move all my weight around,

Should we be recasting the spell after each pound lost? I'm so new at this! And if we do, should it be full moon each time?

Can we do more than one square at a time or during a 24 hour period?

Hi Lilly, thanks for your comment. Yes, you do have to put your mind into it, Witchcraft takes a lot of mental discipline and effort. People have seen too many movies, I think they get the idea it's easy, but it isn't. You get better with study and practice, though. Best of luck to you!

Hi Val; I'd keep it in my stash and grab it out if ever needed again, or I'd return it to nature (bury, burn (safely!), throw into running water, etc.) if I'm sure I wouldn't need it again.

Hi Katie; sorry so late in getting back to you. If you're looking to cast a spell to reduce, diminish, destroy, send away, etc. anything, ideally you should perform those spells between the full moon and the dark moon. That's a 2-week span, so you shouldn't have to wait more than 2 weeks.

Hi Jake; I don't believe there is such a thing as a person who can't do spells. I do believe that there are people who have more skills, and people who have less skills. Sometimes it's just a matter of continuing to learn & practiced to improve. That's why I recommend focusing on simple, small goals like I did here.

There are a number of reasons a spell might not work-- you might have a personal blockage, for example, that is interfering with your success in a certain area. It is best to work on that first to pave the way. I've written a couple of articles here on Hubpages about mistakes a Witch might make so you might want to chec those out:

I missed the full moon. Will it still work with a waning moon or do I need to wait until next full moon?

I have been looking for so mean spells that work and I have tried and tried and I have wait and done everything that I was supposed to do but its not working and I have done the meditating and I have focused and I just want to know like why cuz I heard you say that it depends on the person do you think that I just can't do spells at all.

Like I said, it's worked for me. But magic isn't like a chemistry formula. How it works for others depends on what they're able to put into it, like with all spells. I wish you luck, sweetie.

I love this! It seems simple, yet potentially quite effective. I am not a witch, but I am familiar with using symbolism, and focused energy and intent. Thank you for sharing this. Namaste

Thanks so much aura for your kind words. Yep, focusing in mini-goals, even in Witchcraft, is very beneficial. At least that's been my experience.

Brilliant spell! I love how it keeps the mind focused on a deeper unconscious level symbolically by using one square of time. The tissue becomes the brick of fat we flush away and the deeper mind gets that! Yes I haven't tried this yet but I can see how this would so work! Brilliant I say! Just Brilliant! I'll try it and come back and update! Thank you! Blessed be

Hi Lucille; thanks for your comment. Some people pay more attention to spell timing because they feel it helps them. Others don't pay attention to it at all and don't think it matters. I include timing for those who like to be more specific, but you should adapt it to suit your needs. Truth is, some spells just can't wait for the planets to align perfectly, so I think even if you like to use the moon energy we've all got to learn to compensate if it's not there.

I absolutely loved this spell, specially the fact that you included humor in it!

My only question is if you think it is possible to do this on other days or only when there is a full moon.

I lost over 70 lbs, tiki. So yes, it works-- but like all magic, it doesn't do it for you so much as help you in your efforts. I still had to diet and exercise; I just used spells to help facilitate the progress. Good luck to you!
