Not "Knowing"---but Sensing the Truth

"Endings are not always bad. Most times they are just beginnings in disguise."

---- Kim Harrison

I could almost hear you ask: Is this to be yet another round of wishful thinking of a 73-year old incorrigible optimist? Along with another question instantly responding to the title of the article: How could he possibly know?

Well, I don't. For the simple reason that no one "knows" anything about anything. The Truth is multi-layered, and we can't grasp all of it at once, while being somewhat in the position of those three proverbial blind men describing an elephant.

I can tell you right up front that I don't "know" the truth about dying, and at this point of writing I just want to share with anyone willing to listen what's coming out from my intuition --- while predicting that at least some of you will be able to "sense the fragrance of truthfulness" in it.

As for those many who won't be able to shake off their skepticism --- by the time you will have proven me either right or wrong, we won't be able to communicate it anyway, so at least try to derive some intellectual fun out of everything that follows.

Oh, by the way, I do believe all of it.

Some Dreams Are Meant to Last Forever

"Seeing death as the end is like seeing the horizon as the end the ocean"

----David Searls

For starters, allow me to make a pretty bold statement about the very nature of that which follows upon our body has stopped functioning. Namely, we slip into a dreamlike state, but with an altogether different contents.

It is impossible for me to describe it, except for the fact that being free from this body loaded with memories of life, we will also become instantly free from them. In the way like we cannot remember our experiences from the time of our embryonic phase of life, simply because that memory would not be useful to us in our next phase outside the womb.

However, let me make this important point about this after-life dreamlike state: you will feel very much "at home" in it. I know it's a kind of hard to digest, since we are so accustomed to see that new environment as something quite hard to get used to. Especially those folks who are considering a possibility of getting greeted by an ugly dude with a long fork. Now seriously, the experience will be like one of those breathtaking moments of home-coming after a very long absence.

Now, try to get into the spirit (no pun intended) of that new realm which will, again, feel like home much more than any of your earthly homes has ever felt. You won't have any mundane themes on your mind, since they are all a mix of negativities attached to the soap opera of survival. In that state, you --- or let me introduce the term of real you --- won't be able to feel anything negative. No fear, no pain, worry, anger, sadness...anything of the kind.

Cool, isn't it? Just don't try to fall in love with it, because it is a sort of a universal rule to live fully and completely every dimension in which we get to reside. I have no idea if there is any penalty for not respecting this gift of life, but something is telling me that we are already paying that penalty in installments here on earth, each according to the size of our neglect of life.

No Words Can Express Divine Joy

"You were born a child of light's wonderful secret --- you return to the beauty you have always been." ---- Aberjhani

I don't want to insult your intelligence by "spelling it out for you", folks, but ---you will feel so "good" that in this body of yours it's impossible to duplicate that feeling even with the strongest drugs imaginable. Except that you won't know that the feeling is so good, since no opposite feelings will exist to compare it to.

When I first succeeded to make that meditative trip to the depths of my essence without falling asleep in the process, I got startled out of it with a fear that I had died. I could not feel being attached to my body, nothing was left of my familiar sense of identity, and I was merely a pure consciousness, or better say it --- an altered state of it.

And even though it didn't mean my death, I could not verbalize the experience afterwards; so don't think all these words are doing any justice to the nature of it. The feeling was truly out of this world, and it seemed like I "knew" it all, but didn't bother cataloging any of it into familiar concepts. Words work on another level of processing reality, and it didn't seem like I wanted to process any of it --- it was all just there and a sort of obvious, without a need to give it a thought.

So that's how I am intuiting about death being just another dreamlike state where we don't need our body to spoil it all, plus any of those regular forms of experiencing our mundane version of reality.

Physicists are telling us that energy cannot be destroyed, so --- no matter how many of those tiny millivolts are involved in running our consciousness, that energy cannot be destroyed along with the consciousness itself which is getting those millivolts from a much bigger energy source than our body from which we will be departing.

It's Our Spiritual Duty to Embrace Life as a Gift
It's Our Spiritual Duty to Embrace Life as a Gift

Fearing for Life Is Good

"Most people die at 25 and aren't buried until they are 75."

---- Benjamin Franklin

Here we come now to address this paradox of fear response to the idea of our mortality, as compared to just described --- in some clumsy terms --- all that "bliss of not living". Look folks, it's perfectly normal, even desirable to be afraid of dying, because we are still in this body whose ultimate principle of vitality is its survival.

You know what I mean? Every tiniest cell in our body wants to live, wants to be replaced with another living cell, and if the whole earthly adventure is to be taken as a gift --- we've got to treat it as a gift, not to cowardly wish an escape from it into a freedom from pain of life.

In the same way that it's not normal for us to sleepwalk --- I mean, we need to sleep, and then upon awakening we can walk all we want, but sleeping is meant to be just that. Likewise, we have to experience every stage of our beingness respecting their different characters.

If Duality of "I-and-God" Can Inspire Us for Something Good, It's O.K. Here on Earth

Place Where Only Purity Resides

Sometimes you have to kind of die inside in order to rise from your own ashes and believe in yourself, and love yourself to become a new person." ---- Gerard Way

Our inability to recollect any experiences from those first few months of life doesn't mean we were any "less alive". Likewise, in that dreamlike state after our body dies we are still ourselves --- minus the personality. While that may pose a problem for some of us, the mind-boggling thing still stands --- that we will feel more at home without this personality than with it.

Indeed, we can't be so nasty to our true self as to expect that unfathomably positive and pleasant form of beingness to be contaminated by our present personality makeup.

At this point let us tackle another little issue --- having to do with your god. If you are a religious person, you must be wondering if you will "see god". O.K., let me take it back --- I know that you "know" that you will see him, but at least give me a chance to put it into the frame of my own take of it.

Sorry to say it, but no, you won't be able to see your god. The reason for it is that whatever you are experiencing as god in this earthly dimension, won't mean anything "out there". In order to conceptualize god, or universal love for the same matter, you need a concept of "non-love". I am talking about the duality of opposites. For another example, you can't conceptualize "beautiful" without internally matching it to the concept of "non-beautiful".

It's axiomatic to life to be stretched between opposites, the ultimate being "life-and-non-life". Now, the duality doesn't stop at this type of yin-yang opposites, but also means the principle of separation --- "I-and-non-I"; which brings us to the duality of "I-and-god", as two distinct entities.

Remember, in that dreamlike state of consciousness you won't have anything like a personal space, because you'll be immersed in a reality without time and space. Meaning that you won't have a point of perception from which you would be able to observe your god --- you will be he.

Being One with God Removes Significance of Either

"I am still in the land of the dying; I shall be in the land of the living soon".

(his last words) ---- John Newton

To borrow the lingo of quantum physics, "you" will be everywhere-and-nowhere, in a realm of infinite possibilities. Just like an electron that can be at infinite number of places at the same time, your essence may take part in many parallel universes doing something constructive, harmonious, and feeling absolutely great in that element.

Earthly dimension is limiting us, as our quantum design got collapsed into a material form which is subject to space and time. And now I wouldn't even go there, but I wanted to make it mind-twisting just to give you a hint how the world which doesn't meet our five senses is dense with events for which our brains are not wired to conceptualize.

Getting back to god, once when in that dreamlike state, we won't have any standard of comparison to distinguish god-from-non-god. Can a hand grab itself? Can an eye see itself, and an ear hear itself? Can a river turn back to find out what its spring looks like? Can god meet himself?

I am not suggesting that you will be god, because it wouldn't sit well in your linear mind of dualities of "I-and-god". But being one with god may be easier to comprehend if we see it in analogy with our body being a bundle of energy immersed into the quantum soup of universal energies --- in the state which scientists are calling entanglement.

For another metaphor --- is a drop in the ocean really a drop or is it the ocean, having the same characteristics of the whole big mass? Once you blend with god --- god stops existing, and even your own existence doesn't matter, because there is no one around to separate you from non-you. Makes sense, doesn't it?

We Can Make Life a Divine Story

"The fear of death is why we build cathedrals, have children, declare war, and watch cat videos online at three A.M." ---- Caitlin Doughty

Even while in this mundane form, there is that distinct and non-physical form of us that will only continue its journey once freed from the limitations imposed by material world. And even in this form we can, through meditation, or by minimizing our ego a sort of "rehearse" that divine experience that's awaiting us at the end of this game.

Moreover, by awakening that best in ourselves we can prolong our life and make it incredibly more rewarding. Indeed, that spiritual-you will be so close to the real-you, and yes --- then you may say it as true that your "god created you in his own image". For one day you will be one. Why not give yourself a taste of that harmonious beingness before?

Why not tune into our true self to a point where all of us can clearly see that at the end of the rainbow we'll just continue being? --- because we cannot die.

Theresa -- Trying to read a little between the lines of your comment I am sensing that you really are "different", so you are one more soul, beside me on this planet, comfortable enough to be that.

Amazing! It is encouraging for me to know that there are people who think outside the box like you Sir. Sometimes I think I really am different regarding life on planet earth. As for being like God, it is very clear we have so much to learn to maximize on this attribute.
