Quantum Jumping Review: Introduction and Module 1

Parallel Universes

Among one of the most bizarre pseudo-scientific spiritual trends I have ever come across is Quantum Jumping. Without even explaining what it is, you already know that it’s going to be weird.

So what is it?

First you must understand the multiverse theory. That is to say that there are an infinite number of parallel universes out there. Since the amount is infinite, everything that could have ever happened has happened in one of these universes. This means that in a parallel universe you are the king or queen, in another, the greatest football player ever. There is literally no limit since there are in infinite amount of your doppelgangers (you from an alternate universe).

Burt Goldman (The American Monk)
Burt Goldman (The American Monk)

I know. In theory, this means that I can talk to an alternate self of mine that is currently riding a dragon while fighting the X-Men who are wearing dinosaur footy pajamas.

The idea of a multiverse is actually pretty widely accepted. Many quantum physicists agree that there is a multiverse, and they have all of these crazy equations (that are far too complicated for my mind) to back up their claim.

The Quantum Jumping Program

A review module by module

Ok then, I’ll let that one slide. But Mr. Burt Goldman has taken it one step further. He claims that he can communicate with his doppelgangers, and offers to teach you for the incredibly affordable price of $100. The knowledge of the universe, the ability to become the master of anything, for $100, seems legit. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of his program.

There are 7 CD’s each with a number of modules all designed to teach you the ways of Quantum Jumping. I have gone through each of these modules with an open mind, doing the exercises exactly as he says to do them. I will now go through them with you, and let you form your own opinion. Note: I had to listen to each of these modules twice; once to write my notes, and once to do the exercises.

The Introduction Module

The first thing you notice when listening to Burt Goldman, The American Monk, is that he likes to talk. So much so that it drowns out the message of whatever it is he is trying to say at that moment. This would make it difficult to listen to the most interesting of audio files let alone a lecture on Quantum Jumping.

The introduction module is pretty self-explanatory; it gives you a brief introduction to what we will be learning. He starts by defining frustration. Everyone is frustrated about something, so everyone can relate. The American Monk explains that with his methods you can make your dreams come true by meeting a version of yourself from another dimension.

Bear with me.

A "Trainer of Trainers"

Burt Goldman continues to explain Quantum Jumping using quantum physics and multiverse theory as evidence. He says that he is not the first to come up with these ideas, and reads off the names of several prominent physicists.

Rifled with non-stop stutters, Burt Goldman finishes by explaining that he is a trainer of trainers. He spends the next several minutes simply listing his accomplishments in regards to spiritual enlightenment, boasting that he has mastered them all.

The Purpose of the Module

This point of this entire module is not to introduce you to the theory of Quantum Jumping, or any anything related to it. The introduction module is designed to give justification to Burt Goldman’s authority on the subject at hand, which by the way is completely necessary. Who would believe some random guy preaching enlightenment unless he first read off his accomplishments?

Module 1: Concepts

This module is long. It is 25 minutes of listening to Burt Goldman rant about things he doesn’t think you can possibly understand, such as infinite and God. We get it, infinite means infinite, never ending, always continuing, etc.

He goes on for quite some time about infinite and God, and how God is infinite and in everything. The concept is repeated enough where you really start to see infinite.

The American Monk's Bold Claims

The American Monk starts to boast some pretty bold claims. Here are some of them:

  • Hall of fame photographer
    • Yet he doesn’t know anything about photography
  • Fantastic singer
    • Claims he can’t sing
  • His art hangs in museums
    • Says he doesn’t know the first thing about painting
  • Books sold around the world
    • He can’t write
  • Therapeutic Hypnotherapy Practice is world renowned
    • He doesn’t know anything about it
  • Considered a world class healer
    • Doesn’t have a clue how to heal
  • Says he is the most relaxes person on the planet
    • Also says he is under a great deal of stress
  • His poems are compared to T.S. Elliot
    • Doesn’t know anything about poetry

Note: All of these claims are made by Burt Goldman, even the negative ones. He says that his doppelgangers have taught him these abilities.

Source Foundation

How did he accomplish all of these amazing feats without having any idea how to do them? He calls it Parallel Dimension Quest (PDQ). But, he doesn’t get into it right now, only saying, “More on that later.”

Now we are going to get a little more into the meat of Quantum Jumping by learning about source foundations. To put it simply (if it’s possible), a source foundation is the specific event that led to the current version of you. So in a sense, every choice you make is a source foundation, no matter how small. This is because that in one of the infinite parallel dimensions, you made the other choice. So you see, every choice you make essentially creates a parallel you, one in which you made different choices, both good and bad.

The Goal of Quantum Jumping

We finally have the goal of Quantum Jumping, to communicate with your doppelgangers that made a different choice than you, one you wish you would have made. In order to accomplish this you must be at what Burt Goldman calls the Alpha Level of consciousness.

Module 2: Alpha Exercise

In Module 2 we complete one full alpha exercise. Basically, we are going to meditate. While in meditation you are going to focus on one specific objective, “What if I were to have done that instead?”

We begin with pretty standard meditation exercises, relax, deep breaths, count back from 3, etc. After you achieve what The American Monk calls a pleasant state of mind or the Alpha State, he asks us to think of the phrase, “Everyday I’m better.” Then after repeating this phrase, you place the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth and hold it there while he counts 1,2,3. This is called Bagha.

Re-Imagining a Time of Frustration

Now we must think of a source foundation. A moment in your life that is a source of frustration for you, one that you wish you could go back and change. Focus on that moment. Now imagine you are in a small hallway with a door. Beyond that door are an infinite number of universes. He counts 1,2,3, the door opens, and you jump in.

Inside you see your source foundation playing out. You are only an observer. You must watch the entire scenario as it played out originally. He counts 1,2,3 and you are back on the other side of the door. 1,2,3 and the door opens again and you jump inside. This time you see the source foundation playing out except instead of you, it’s your doppelganger, and instead of making the choice you made, he makes the choice you wish you made. 1,2,3 and you back on the other side of the door.

The door closes and we count 1,2,3 again and you awake. Burt instructs us that the next time we think of that moment, we think of it in the positive manner; think of what your doppelganger did.

Want to hear it all right from Burt Goldman's mouth?

A Good Positive Thinking Exercise

Burt Goldman’s Quantum Jumping may sound like something that came out of science fiction, but does it have merit? One thing I am sure of is that this is a great positive thinking exercise. It has been commonly known for quite some time that the simple idea of positive thinking can help you in many facets of life.

That’s essentially what we just did. Whether you believe that you just watched your doppelganger or not, you still thought of a more positive way to look at the situation that brought you conflict. In that respect I can see how Quantum Jumping could be helpful to a lot of people. As far as communicating with my doppelgangers, I’m still quite skeptical. We will just have to wait and see.

So what do you think?

  • Quantum Jumping sounds ridiculous
  • This is amazing
  • Doesn't really look like it's for me
  • It might have some merit

More to Come

This is part 1 of a hopefully long series of reviews on Quantum Jumping. Since there is such a large amount of information to cover, the future of this review depends heavily upon reader response. So please let me know if this is something you would like to see more of.

I must admit I have never heard of anything like this.

A careful reflection of our past thoughts and actions does have the power to influence our future decisions.

Interesting concept whether we agree or not with Mr. Goldman.

Well done.

This concept is not new to me, as I have done this kind of thing a lot. The terms "Quantum Jumping" and "Parallel Dimension Quest" are apt ones. However, the fact that someone is trying to make money off such a potentially dangerous practice is irresponsible at best. For people vibrating at higher frequencies or who hold a lot of energy, there is the potential to not just view or communicate with their other selves, but also to draw the events from those other lives to them. It's even possible for a person's consciousness to slip from one dimension to another, and that is a confusing nightmare -- plus there's no guarantee they'll make it back to their original reality when they're done or that they'll be able to tell the difference between the correct reality and one that's just similar. The idea that you can see into a reality where you are a king/queen or a football star is not really likely. Dimensions are parallel, but not all of them are close by. I've found that most versions of myself that I can access (see through their eyes, know what they know) are fairly similar to me. If they weren't, my energy couldn't line up with theirs enough to allow access. That's where the danger lies. People might not make it back, and they'd end up in a place that's almost the same, but where they don't remember things they should remember, places they're familiar with are subtly different, or secrets they've kept are no longer secret, and so forth. The idea of teaching the average person to actually do this with a set of CDs is absurd; teaching someone who is familiar with such energy work (not the average person) to navigate is highly unlikely even with years of hands-on training. Good scam, I suppose.

This is actually an elongated version of a classic NLP technique called timeline work. It is powerful and effective, because the subconscious does not differentiate between reality and imagination.

The basic premises in Goldman's work, as presented in your article, are common ones, at least in my experience:

1. There is ONE mind, ONE God/Universe/All-That-Is/Source (pick your favorite term)

2. We have access to it because it is within each of us (Jesus tried to tell people that fact over 2,000 years ago.)

My background includes 20+ years meditation, Alchemical Hypnotherapist, some NLP training, long-term student of metaphysics, and "widely-read seeker." And no, I have not listened to this program.

Whether or not we're "talking with our doppelganger in another existence" is not the issue. Do we have access to a different existence? YES. Do we have access to every idea and thought that ever occurred ? Yes.

Lol, the bible just about covers it all - deeper understanding and relationship with Jesus gets you there... that's the good news about the Gospel, that most believers forget, feel undeserving of, or just can't believe that God loves them just that much... But... well written, and very interesting. Peace. Kawi.

This has been utilized by Buddhists for thousands of years. It is spoken about in the Lotus Sutra. However, it is great if he can show you how to do it. It usually takes much practice. Learning remote viewing is another way to utilize these principles.
