Although the world of numerology is a fascinating one, it's not always as simple as it may seem. If you read at some point the traits of your life path number and didn't find all of them accurate, you should make sure you read the qualities of your destiny number too. Your destiny number, also called your expression number, is an important complement to your life path number and a vital piece of your numerology chart. This article explores the destiny numbers five to nine.

How to Find Your Destiny Number

This number is based on the numbers that correspond to the letters in your full name. In order to find yours, you need to add together your name's letters. It's a simple process that consists of five easy steps.

  1. First, you write out the alphabet from A to Z.
  2. Then, you assign each letter a digit from 1 to 9. For example, A is 1, B is 2, etc. Once you reach I (which is 9), start back at 1. If you find it too complicated, please see the key included below that pairs each number with its letters of the alphabet.
  3. Next, you write out your official full name (if you have a middle name, make sure you include it as well).
  4. Afterward, you match each letter of your name to its corresponding number.
  5. Finally, you add together all the numbers and reduce them until you have a single digit.

Be careful: If you get 11, 22, 33, don't add them in order to get a single digit. These are called master numbers and apply to different rules.

If you found the process too confusing, you can find an example of a name calculation here, that might make it easier for you.

Which Numbers Correspond With Each Letter?

1- A, J, S

2- B, K, T

3- C, L, U

4- D, M, V

5- E, N, W

6- F, O, X

7- G, P, Y

8- H, Q, Z

9- I, R

Number Five

If your destiny number is five, your mission in life is to adapt, change and make as much progress as possible. It is important that you work on your adaptation and flexibility skills. You're a very social person, witty and a quick-thinker. With these qualities you would be excellent in the field of marketing and sales. Learn to embrace your freedom and follow your curiosity. Life is a big adventure and you're the one that has to explore it. By using your freedom properly you'll be able to utilize your talents in order to realize your dreams. Should you accept change and fluidity, you'll eventually make the best out of life.

Number Six

With this destiny number, your mission in life is to take care of others. They might be a romantic partner, your parents, a close friend, a patient, etc. You're all about harmony, love and cooperation. No one knows better than you how to help people solve their problems through kindness and love. You're responsible, loyal and self-sacrificing, which means that you would make an excellent teacher, healer, social worker or nurse. Through love, service, and generosity, you'll be able to fulfill your destiny.

Number Seven

If you have a destiny number seven, your mission in life is to analyze, research and seek out information. You're a person who questions everything and digs deep—a perceptive and persistent individual. You should make sure you enhance your analytical and research skills. What's most important to you in life, is to share your ideas and wisdom with the world. What is more, you're driven by knowledge and ambition so it is likely that you'll benefit most by working in a place where you feel you're benefiting the world around you. You have a great need for solidarity but it is important that you learn not to isolate yourself. Should you manage to control your perfectionism and keep your emotions in check, there's no stopping you.

Number Eight

If you discovered that your destiny number is eight, your mission in life is to achieve personal power and control. This, however, can only become possible after you've gained control over yourself. You're a self-reliant and pragmatic individual, ready to work endlessly in order to achieve your goals. You should make sure you develop your organizational and methodical skills throughout your life. You can commit yourself and achieve success by following any career; nevertheless, the business field is what suits you best. Learn to balance your social life with your job and don't be too hard on yourself. Hard work is the only thing that can lead you to financial abundance.

Number Nine

If your destiny number is nine, your mission in life is a humanitarian one. You're compassionate, sympathetic and understanding. Don't hesitate to broaden your horizons and come together with different kinds of people. Selflessness, sensitivity, and forgiveness are only some of the qualities you possess that would benefit you in a position that has to do with humanitarian work. On the other hand, you should learn not to push others in order to follow you and not become too disappointed when they don't. Not everyone can have the same ideals and values as you. Make sure you know how to both give and receive and how to be a good listener over an intimidating preacher. Then, you'll be able to reach your full potential.

I found this article fascinating Margaret and I am a number 7. Having read your paragraph on number 7, I have to admit it does fit my character type. Even though I tend to be surrounded by people in my work life, I do like my own company. It's all about balance. A really enjoyable and enlightening read Margaret.
