Calculate Your Name Number in Numerology & Does It Mean Anything?
Numerology, also called arithmancy, is the ancient practice of seeking out hidden meaning in words from numerical codes. Many cultures and religions with writing systems have practiced some form of numerology, applying it to people's names, special dates, or important written works. For example, in Judaism this is called gematria and is a component of Kabbalah. In Chinese numerology, the relations among words, numbers, and attributes is based on similarity in sound. Wiccans and other NeoPagans also use numerology as a divination method.
More broadly, numerology also encompasses the traditions of lucky and unlucky numbers in world cultures. Numbers such as 3, 7, 12, 13, 144, 666, 888, etc hold special meanings for certain cultures and religions.
Since the numerical assignments made to letters are essentially arbitrary, there is no deeper supernatural significance to a word's number, including a person's name number. The fact that different numbering schemes and languages can produce different results is enough to make numerology a pseudoscience. Nevertheless, calculating your name number can be a fun exercise in applying mathematics to fortunetelling.
How to Calculate Your Name Number (English Alphabet)
Step 1: Use the following table to convert each letter in your name to a number from 1 to 9. You can use either your full name, nick name, first and last name only, or whatever you feel is best. (There's no standard way to present your name, and different choices of name will yield different results. That's why its a pseudoscience.)
A = 1
 B = 2
 C = 3
 D = 4
 E = 5
 F = 6
 G = 7
 H = 8
 I = 9

J = 1
 K = 2
 L = 3
 M = 4
 N = 5
 O = 6
 P = 7
 Q = 8
 R = 9

S = 1
 T = 2
 U = 3
 V = 4
 W = 5
 X = 6
 Y = 7
 Z = 8

Step 2: Add up all the numbers from the converted letters in your name. For example, if your name is Pocahontas Smith, your name letters convert to 7, 6, 3, 1, 8, 6, 5, 2, 1, 1, 1, 4, 9, 2, and 8. The sum of these numbers is 64.
Step 3: Divide this number by 9 and take the remainder, which should be a between 0 and 8. If the remainder is 0, convert that 0 to 9. Now you will have a number between 1 and 9. This is your name number. Using the same example above, 64 divided by 9 equals 7 with a remainder of 1. Thus, the number number for Pocahontas Smith is 1.
Alternative Step 3: Add up the digits of the number you obtained in Step 2, and repeat until you end up with a single digit number between 1 and 9. This produces the same result as Step 3 because the algorithms are mathematically equivalent. Using the same example, the first sum obtained from Pocahontas Smith is 64. Then you compute 6 + 4 = 10, and finally 1 + 0 = 1. (See also "Why does the divisibility rule for 9 work?")

Numerology Applied to Dates
Numerology is not only applied to words, but also to dates, addresses, telephone numbers, and other abstractions that are encoded with numbers. For example, if you were born on February 2, 1922, you would calculate
2 + 2 + 1 + 9 + 2 + 2 = 18,
1 + 8 = 9
Using the list of number meanings above, a numerologist might predict a long life. In the Jewish tradition of gematria, 18 is considered especially auspicious because 18 is the number corresponding to the word for life, chai.
If you include the time of day in your numerological analysis, the number may change! For instance, if you were born at 3:40 AM and decided to include that, the reading would be
3 + 4 + 0 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 9 + 2 + 2 = 25
2 + 5 = 7

Wish more people played with numbers. Its just good for your mind.
Haha, it kinda reminds me of that crazy Jim Carrey movie about the number 23.
it's not working lol i divided 30 by 9 = 3.33 now im very lost
good shortcut trick. my raw number was 47, then I did 4+7 = 11 and 1+1 =2. But 47 divided by 9 equals 5 remainder 2, so that way is a little faster than adding the digits over and over.
