Ghost Dream Interpretations
Dreaming of Ghosts or Haunted Houses?
Ghosts that pop up in our dreams can usually be quite frightening and most definitely unnerving. Just recently I had a bout of sleep paralysis that involved a terrifying ghost dream in which I was attacked by an evil ghost. But at the same time, I have had dreams of being a haunted house explorer and tour guide, obviously a ghost dream with a much lighter tone and environment. Many people dream of ghosts and want to know exactly what it means to have a ghost dream.
This hub will provide some interpretations to commonly dreamt ghost dreams, as well as interpretations of haunted house dreams. These are merely suggestions, as I am not a psychologist or professional dream analyst, so you must ultimately interpret your ghost dream in a way that is personal to you and your life.
Many say that dreaming of ghosts a lot or having recurring ghost dreams is sort of like your subconscious trying to expose the "bones in your closet" to your conscious mind, so to speak. I believe that there's more to ghost dreams than this quick and obvious ghost dream interpretation.
What are some of the most common ghost dreams and how they can be more deeply interpreted?
What about having a ghost dream in which you enter a house and a ghost pops out at you, scaring you so badly that you flee? Seems like a simple ghost dream to interpret...so let's think about this. First of all, what does the house look like? Is it a house that you've been in before? You're own house maybe? What does the ghost look like, or do you see any distinguishing features at all? If you fled from the ghost in this ghost dream, you are obviously fearful of something...but is it a part of you or maybe a part of your life that scares you...a part of your life that you are trying to get away from?
If the house in which you encounter this ghost is your own house, you know that this ghost in your ghost dream can be interpreted to relate directly to your life and your experiences. It is quite possible that there is a hidden side of you that you are trying to run away from or to deny. It's a part of your life that's not just hidden from others, but hidden from yourself. Or at least you'd like to think so...is it an addiction? Alcohol? Pills? Cigarettes? Don't hide from your ghost...it will haunt you for the rest of your life...maybe ultimately turning you into a ghost yourself.
What about a ghost dream interpretation for a ghost that appears to you in your own room? Is it an evil presence or just an eerie, strange presence? Does it say anything to you? Warn you of something? Maybe there's nothing to interpret here...maybe this ghost dream is simply a warning or message from beyond the grave. Especially if the ghost is someone you once knew that has passed...take their message into great consideration. If they didn't speak, try to invite them into your dreams again in order to acquire their message. Sometimes dreams don't need to be interpreted, but merely listened to.
Haunted House Dream Interpretations
What about a haunted house dream interpretation?
I have had numerous haunted house dreams in my lifetime, most of them being scary in one way or another. Not always terrifying, but scary and/or thrilling in a weird sort of way. Usually it is one of two haunted houses, and I am either living in them or trying to find someone in the haunted house dream.
A haunted house full of ghosts and mysteries could indicate that you are starting a new turn in your life and aren't sure of what to expect...that you are hesitant and most likely very nervous as to what you will find in this new "house" or could the house possibly symbolize a new job or a new love? Are you frightened that this new job or potential relationship will run you off...or that you might not be strong enough to deal with the terrors and risks of something new? These are true possibilities for a haunted house dream interpretation.
What if you feel comfortable in the haunted house dream, as if you are a tour guide of sorts? This haunted house dream interpretation is obviously going to be quite different from the haunted house dream interpretation above. If you are more than comfortable, even curious, of your haunted house in your dream, it is possible that you are exploring a side of yourself that you didn't even know existed before. You are coming to a fork in the road of life, and discovering secrets about yourself that are exciting and liberating. It is also possible that this haunted house dream interpretation could mean that you are facing the ghosts of your past with bravery and a willingness to learn from them.
No matter if you are having ghost dreams or haunted house dreams, the themes can be quite similar and the feelings and sensations can be similar, as well. Just remember that they are dreams and can be interpreted differently for each individual. However, use these ghost dream and haunted house dream interpretations to build off of in order to interpret your own dreams.
