DREAMING OF FLOATING

Dreaming that we are floating is actually a common dream that both men and women have. You may have dreamed about floating in the air, over your bed, or into space. Some people may confuse floating dreams with flying dreams. There is a difference in these two dream themes. Flying dreams are usually controlled while floating dreams are likely to not be controllable. Floating dreams usually portray you slowly floating. You can also dream that you were floating on water. This article refers to floating in air and floating on water.

In this article, we will discuss dreams about floating in air and floating in the water. We will review floating dream scenarios and floating dream meanings. In the end, we hope that we are able to better guide you so you can possibly figure out what your floating dream represents in your waking life.

FLOATING DREAM MEANINGS

If you dreamed that you were floating in the air, this can represent a variety of different things in your waking life. In general, floating dreams are a positive dream. Floating dreams usually symbolize independence, freedom, acceptance, happiness, satisfaction, and success. Floating dreams are often associated with positive emotions in our waking life. However, floating dreams can also suggest negative emotions and situations in our life as well. It is important to try your best to recall every symbol that you saw and every emotion that you felt in your floating dream. Each one of these symbols and emotions can have meaning to your waking life.

Dreaming that your floating in the air can represent new beginnings in your waking life. Experts commonly agree that floating dreams are a sign of new freedoms in one's life. This dream can refer to variety of different situations and circumstances. You may have moved out on your own for the first time or you may be starting a new job. Floating dreams can also suggest that we are on a new course or path in life. It is possible that this type of dream points to a career change or a new career in general. It may even refer to a new friendship or relationship.

Floating dreams can also represent peace and calm in our waking life. This may be a period of your life where you are in total control of your emotions. Everything in your life is in order and it appears that everything is falling in place. Once again, your dream about floating is portraying confidence, success, and happiness. This meaning pertains to both floating dream types, air and water. In the case of dreams about floating in water, the water would be calm with little to no current.

The emotions that you feel in your floating dream can also influence the meaning of floating dreams. How did you feel in your floating dream? Were you scared, terrified, or helpless? Were you even scared at all? You can feel all types of emotions in such a dream. There is no wrong answer here. Your emotions that are felt in your floating dream can have meaning in your waking life. If you felt happy, then it may suggest that you are happy in your waking life. If you were terrified, it can symbolize that there is something that you fear in your life. If you were scared or terrified, what is causing these same emotions in your waking life? The answer can very well be what your dream is trying to tell you.

MORE FLOATING DREAM MEANINGS

If you dreamed about floating on waves or rough waters, this dream can suggest that there may be trying times in the near future. It can also point to a current situation that is causing you issues. This may be brought on by anything. The turbulence in the water is a sure sign of struggle in your waking life. If you dreamed that you saw someone dead or an animal dead floating, this also symbols trying times in your future. Floating on water dreams can also commonly depict that we will go through trying times but we will find success. As you already know, nothing comes easy. Life is full of struggle, pain, and hardship. However, when you go through hell and back, it makes victory taste so much better.

If you dreamed that you saw animals floating, experts suggest this as a positive sign. In most cases, animal floating dreams represent happiness and joy. This is also true if you see family or friends floating in the water. If you dreamed that they are floating to you, this can represent a close connection to that person. If they are floating away in your dream, then it may symbolize that you have lost your connection with them. It may be a good time to get back in touch.

If you dreamed that you were floating straight in the air, this dream can represent that you are trying to reach new heights in your waking life. It is possible that you are trying new things or your pushing new limits. This type of floating dream can also suggest that we are not living up to our potential. You can reach great heights but you have to make the effort to do so. Don't let anyone or anything hold you down.

If you dreamed about floating down, this suggest that you are experiencing negative emotions. You are feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders. This can refer to any situation, circumstance, or relationship that is making you feel this way. This type of dream may refer to emotions such as anxiety or even depression. Quit letting things weigh you down.

If you dreamed that you were floating and you were afraid to move, this type of floating dream points that you may be having doubts in your waking life. Being afraid to move in your floating dream can point that you doubt yourself. You second guess yourself and deep inside, you believe that you are not worthy or not capable. Once again, this can point to many things. It may be a relationship, work, or another situation. Remember, you are capable of anything. You have to believe in yourself before anyone else will. It is also possible that you are afraid of heights. If so, this floating dream is probably just an aspect of your fear of heights.

Dreaming that you are floating in space suggest that you will succeed in troubled times. Your life may feel like it is going downhill and you feel that there is nowhere to turn. Your emotions are running wild and there are no answers. Even so, you will be successful and get through these troubled times. Dreaming that you are floating in space can also symbolize that our potentials are endless. You can go as far as you want. Just like space, there are no limits!

If you are floating in the air and you have wings, this is a very positive sign. Dreaming that you are floating with wings is a sign of good luck and good omen. This type of floating dream also points to success and happiness. Good luck may already be upon you. If not, this dream is a sign that it may be on its way.

When I was a young boy I had a re - occurring dream - it happened twice if I can recall......I was outside in the back yard and suddenly I was floating above my HOUSE - the emotions I felt was of total disbelief - amazed and excited - it wasnt until I started to go over the house and get furthur away I suddenly got afraid - I didnt wanna leave - next thing I knew I woke up - this and other dreams have stuck with me since childhood and I have no reason as to why I can only remember these ones - another one is about a huge black tidal wave that blocked out the sky......Ive dreamt that more than enough but every-time it was a different place of scenery - the other one is about a Werewolf funny enough - I realized now all these dreams coincide with my life and its life choices and lifestyle Ive lived....its no coincidence my nickname in my Business is the WOLFMAN :) so that speaks volumes about my dreams and how theyve played a part in my life...........Floating into open SPACE did terrify me but at the same time I had this impulsive curiosity to float farther :) #MyDreamSavedMe #ShowedMeMyCalling #HadItAllMappedOutForMe

I was going swimming with my friends but it was really late at night and for some reason I started injecting some drug in my arm which is weird because I never use drugs and I had a bunch of holes in my arms on each side. We got into inner tubes and I started floating down the river and some of my family and some people I know from school were there. But I remember being really scared because it was dark outside and I couldn’t see in the water and people started falling out of their innertube‘s and I saw a few dead people floating in the water. I didn’t want to get out of my inner tube because the current was moving pretty fast but there weren’t any waves or anything and I remember my cousin telling me to calm down and enjoy the river. At the end of the river there was this piece of land or island that we (me and my friends) tried to get on the but there were a bunch of wild animals (huge hyena looking things that kept laughing at us) and were trying to hurt us and the wild animals killed all of my friends except me and I felt really scared and confused but i also didn’t know what to do next because I couldn’t see in the water and I was scared to go back into it because I didn’t know what could be inside. Then At the end of my dream I remember getting a text from one of the friends that had just died and I woke up as I was reading it.

I have these floating dreams pretty often. It's been 8-10 months since I've had them now. I used keep floating in air and keep going up and I can view my room, I can see I'm going further up, I don't know where to (maybe the sky or further to space) and I remember trying to come back down because I'm feeling anxious going up and trying to grab on to things so that I don't float and go up anymore! Can anyone explain this to me?

I had a dream I was looking at a turtle tank with a family of turtles swimming in calm water. Whenever I reached to pet one it would float to the top. I then told someone else to try and it again floated up right to the top with calmness.

Could someone interpret this please: I was levitating in my dream, it felt amazing and I was in full control. There were people with me who were in awe and I think I was a bit surprised too. I was overwhelmed with my power, in a very good way. It wasn't very high, about 3 stories high, probably reached 20-30 meters maximum. But I was connected with those people, they were impressed and I think at the end of the dream those people rose up and down (kinda levitated too). It was an amazing dream. Felt very real. Thank you :)

I have had this dream many times over the years. I usually get picked up by strong wind and even though I'm happy about it, I usually get scared because I start floating too high and have to clutch onto tree branches etc. because I'm scared of drifting away and not knowing how high I'll go.

Many people dream of falling so I'm happy that I dream of floating.

I had a dream that was a combination of flying and floating.

I dreamt I was on a bike and attached to that bike was a helium balloon,

As I started to float I had an electric fan on the back of my bike, I noticed I didn't even need to peddel, as the electric fan started to push me forward,

I look down and in front of me on the handle bars are two buttons,

        My left button says

        Discend

        And

        My Right button says

        Ascend

I felt Soooo free I could fly with complete control using both buttons to zip zag inbetween, trees hills, and even a battle field where the enemy where firing arrows at me and missing.

My bike that was floating and flying at the same time manoeuvred me out of trouble all on its own.

I woke up with a feeling of joy and happiness even in a time of financial hardship.

I felt sooo calm and I know my time of success is on its way.

Thank you for letting me express my dream

I used to float in dreams and I struggled to come down but forces are too great for me to drop. The more I fear staying up the more I fly away. It seems i fear rising while the world keeps me high.

They dreams are back as i try to change careers.

        May the come to pass

Darkwaters, thanks for the comment and great question. Flying and floating may be both controlled or not controlled. As per dreams, the difference is this very action. If you're in control of flight, flying or floating, it suggest that you have control over your emotions. If you don't, it suggest that you don't have control over your emotions. Of course, you need all of the other elements of the dream to understand the full meaning. So, we'd have to know the other elements and emotions you felt in this dream.

What about Flying/Floating dreams? In my dreams floating is a conscious and controllable event, when I leave the ground, direction, even how high I go. While this is an exciting experience it is also disturbing as I am away that this ability is unnatural and not something I should be able to do. How would this change the meaning of the dreams since it seems that my floating is more like unsupported flight.
