Cat Dream Meanings

Updated on April 15, 2016

Kitty has been a lucid dreamer her entire life. These dreams and experiences drive her desire to help others understand their dreams.

Dreaming of Cats?

Your nightly dream escapades have brought a myriad of cats into your dreams? Or maybe you've just dreamed one cat dream lately that you would like interpreted? I'm here to help with your cat dream interpretation. I am a big dreamer and believer in dreams. I am also an avid and natural lucid dreamer and have been studying my own dreams for at least seven years now. While I love interpreting dreams of others', I do have to remind you that the ultimate dream interpretation must be finalized by the dreamer. I can merely offer suggestions for your cat dream interpretation. With all of this in mind, let's explore cats and why these felines are entering your dreamworld!

Cats in Mythology

World mythology is soaked in legends and tales of cats, more specifically the domesticated cat has been found to date back to ancient Egypt! The Egyptians were the first people to take in cats as pets, inevitably domesticating them. In addition to taking care of cats, the Egyptians also worshiped them in some ways. The ancient Egyptians believed that cats were sacred to the cat goddess Bast, who was the goddess of the protection, fertility, and motherhood. Cats were praised for their ability to ward off rodents and snakes from the ancient Egyptians crops, as well as keeping rodents out of the ancient Egyptians' homes. In fact, some cats were even mummified as an offering to the Egyptian goddess Bast. There have been numerous tombs filled with mummy cats and kittens found in the past two hundred years.

In other more negative cat mythology is the myth of cats being witches' familiars. This distorted imagery of the domesticated cat originated during the infamous Burning Times (or witch trials) in Europe and the US Colonies. Though cats had been loved and worshiped in cultures all around the world for hundreds, if not thousands of years before, the Catholic and Christian people turned cats into an evil entity...a filthy creature with a need to aid the devil's work. This is obviously very far from the truth, and all cat lovers know this for a fact!

Now that we've briefly studied some cat mythology, we can delve into the world of cat dream interpretations.

Domesticated Cat Dream Interpretations

Depending on the environment/setting of your cat dream, cat dreams can be interpreted in many different ways.

If the environment or setting of your cat dream was calm and serene, with a calm and sleepy cat, one dream interpretation could be that your feminine side is content and fulfilled. This is especially a good sign for new mothers.

What about if your cat dream is sort of unsettling? Like if you are searching for a lost cat or maybe the cat jumps out at you from a dark place?

One could interpret these sorts of cat dreams to mean that your feminine side is missing or being stifled. For men, this doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be "girly", it just may mean that maybe you have lost a sense of sensitivity that is very critical in many experiences in life. Another dream interpretation for these cat dreams could be that you are sexually frustrated. The lost cat represents an important aspect of your life that you are trying to get back and the jumpy cat represents a frustrated side...both could be your sexuality (or lack thereof).

Some people have cat dreams that involve a wild cat that may even scratch or bite them. Though this may seem like a nightmare of sorts, the attacking cat is merely a message that your subconscious is trying to get over to your conscious mind. Why do cats attack in real life? Usually to defend themselves or in a playful way. Was the attacking cat in your dream vicious or merely trying to find a playmate? It could very well be that your subconscious is trying to tell you to have a little playtime...time to unwind from the daily pressures of life. If the cat was truly attacking you in your cat dream, maybe your subconscious is trying to tell you that you are making a decision that is threatening the well-being of your mentality or spirituality.

Hopefully I helped you figure out a possible cat dream interpretation. If I missed a major cat dream scenario, please let me know and I'll be glad to add it! Share your dreams with me.

Big Cat Dream Interpretations

What if you've having dreams of large cats, such as a tiger, lion, or panther?

These dreams could indicate totally different meanings to the dreams that involve your normal household cats. Why is this? Because the large cats are still wild by nature, they still hold their primal instinct and therefore are bound to bring a more "wild" message to you through your dreams.

If you are dreaming of a tiger in some aspect, here are some possible interpretations:

  • the need for power
  • the need to be aggressive in a situation where you feel out of control
  • the desire for passion in your life or a new level of feminine sexuality
  • if you're bitten or attacked by a tiger: you might be having repressed emotions that need to be freed/liberated

If you are dreaming of a lion, here are some possible dream interpretations:

  • to dream of a lioness might mean you are on the "hunt" for a lover
  • you might be coming into a situation that calls for courage and strength
  • you feel powerful or have the need to feel powerful
  • could be a warning that a threatening situation is about to take place
  • you need to be a part of the "pride" in order to accomplish your goals, team-work is necessary at this time in your life

If you are dreaming of a panther or mountain lion of some kind, here are some possible interpretations:

  • you have a need to connect to the Divine Feminine
  • you are in need of a protector of some kind
  • you are ready to reclaim your personal power
  • you are coming into a new spiritual path of power

I'm also an avid lucid dreamer and occasional OOBEr and quite often awake in an state known as hypnogogic which means I'm still dreaming but near awake and cats are always around me, but i'm pretty sure it my cats spirits from when I had them as pets, because when I call out there names they jump on my bed and play with me or go to sleep next to me...

I had a dream that i was trying to get away from a little grey kitten. I ran, locked it behind 3 wooden fences and it still got through. Went inside and blocked the doggy door with my feet and it still squeezed though. I tried everything but it was still there. Any ideas?

Ok, so I have a dream including a cat, but it was more like a nightmare?? I don't know. I ended up dying ( I think ) at the end, it was hella ominous, etc. I was with my mom in a room, and there were three urns filled with sugar. They were lined up small urn, medium urn, and large urn, and there was a drawing of a cat underneath the largest urn. The cat was drawn in blue crayon, while the eyes were drawn in yellow crayon. The cat took up most of the page, and at the bottom "MOM" was written at the bottom in messy handwriting. The dream shifts to an airport, and I'm there with my mom with a bunch of random people near a coffee shop. There's a pile of newspapers with the urns in the same order on top of the newspapers, and the cat drawing flies in out of nowhere and slips under the largest urn. Then, all the people are suddenly gone, and I'm left with my mother. She's got this blank stare on her face and she's looking at the urns and won't talk to me. I take the small urn and switch it with the meduim urn and the medium urn shatters and it cuts my finger. Then the dream shifts again to the house of one of my best friends at the time. I was on the second floor in a living room, facing towards the wall that was the front of the house. There was no furniture. The windows in front of me were boarded up, and the three urns are there, lined up in the same order. I can hear people whispering in my ear, but they're all talking at the same time so I couldn't understand what they were saying. The same creepy drawing of the cat was under the largest urn and it was fluttering as if there was wind, but there wasn't. There was a really ominous feeling in the room, and it was dark. Then I turn around, and the wall behind me is covered in the exact same drawing of the cat. Several identical copies were tacked to the wall. At that point, I smashed the urns and the whispers got louder and louder until everything went black, and I woke up. Note: I was 7 years old at the time and the only cats I had ever seen were blonde or light brown, and none of them had yellow eyes. To this day I've never seen a cat like that or a drawing like that, and I have no idea where my mind came up with this drawing. It really freaked me out as a kid and still does to this day, and I'd like to know what you think it means.

Last night I had a dream that someone's cat had to be put to sleep. About two weeks ago we had to put my cat Pearl down and it has been SO SO SO hard. I think about her all the time and miss her so much it hurts. I have another cat and a dog and my other cat looks for her all the time and that just makes it worse. All I remember about my dream was that it was an older lady that I didn't know and she had an orange and white cat. My cat Pearl was all white so it wasn't her. She brought the cat in because it was old and had to put it down. At first she seemed fine with it and than I saw her leave through the side door and sit in her car and cry. I went out to hug her even though I did not know her and than the vet brought out the cat. The cat was still alive, but heavily sedated. I asked her what she is doing and she said that she needs to get her cat home to take pictures with her. She has 20 minutes left and she needs to take some selfies with her cat to have them to remember her by. I just remember being confused and wondering why I wasn't giving this option for my cat. That is pretty much all that happened. And I was at the ER vet that we had taken Pearl to. She than just drove away and once I again I was standing there lost and double thinking everything I had just done. Please help, I don't know what this means. Does this mean I did the wrong thing and I should have waited for a miracle??

I've had many cat dreams over the years but the last month it seems to be the theme. Twice I have tried to pet both a white and black cat that wouldn't let me no matter how careful I was about my approach. Both of them slowly hooked their claws into my fingers. It wasn't aggressive, but they were telling me if I reached my hand up any higher to try to pet their heads that I would get a swipe. Last night, it was a fluffy black male cat I swear was possessed by a male spirit, and not a human one. Not sure what type of spirit, but the presence felt very masculine and even playful. He was nice with a friend in the dream and let her pet him, but not me. Yet when I walked away, he stared at me with a smile, not an evil one either. So it was like he was almost teasing me. This was all outdoors on a quiet street on a slight incline with old houses and tree shaded yards. The white cat in my other dream was female and inside a house, and she did the same thing. She was guarding one of her kittens.

Hello there, recently I've been having a few dreams, different scenarios, where I'm being hunted by a big cat. The most disturbing one was a night terror where the big cat, akin to a sabertooth or mountain lion, was in my room and iny head I KNEW if I was to attempt to fall asleep it would kill me.

Each time I dream I wake up terrified, the latest one was last night, I dreamt I was trying to sleep with family nearby but a large cat was hunting us and i was the victim, I woke up as it leapt on me and I felt its hot breath on my ear. It's starting to affect my sleep now and I would love to know what they mean so I can try to deal with the issue but I seriously have no idea currently.

Hello! So last night I dreamt I was staying in a jungle hotel given the warning of Jaguars in the area. Night comes and as I walk towards my own room I sense a predator approaching. I'm terrified. I hide as best I can but the jaguar speaks to me saying it knows where I am. It attacks me and bites me but I close its mouth and I jump away. I go to the main part of the hotel where my family is to warn them. (It turns into my grandmothers house) We escape and take a plane out to the middle of nowhere (I wasn't even supposed to have boarded the plane because I only had an expired ID and a Ill-made photoshop paper print out of an updated ID but the lady still let me through) for a convention where I was sexually assaulted. Then I drive back to my grandmothers house in a crappy red truck and I comfort the wife of my now deceased neighbor. The jaguar killed him. In reality, it wasn't a jaguar it was technically a panther. But in my dream we called it a jaguar. if you could help me interpret this I would so appreciate it! Thank you

Love Tigercatz - It sounds like a very wild dream! Perhaps you feel like Tiger hasn't left, that Tiger's still a part of you...his memory is inside of you. Hope that helps.

  • LoveTigercatz 9 months ago

Hello. I recently had to put my wonderful tabby tom cat Tiger to sleep after it got too ill with renal failure sadly and he's been in my life 16 years 4months. I had a very strange dream last nite where I saw a cat like him sitting on a sofa and something about it wasn't right I knew it wasnt Tiger and I didn't get a good vibe from it for some reason and it knew I didn't trust it. There was a man and woman near by I don't know them but I wanted to warn them about the cat to stay away from it. The cats tail was waving as if cross and it bolted away and I chased after it to make sure it stayed away. Then my dream changed to me taking a selfie and I had my mouth open in a silly face pose and I recall clicking on the pic to see how it looked and it freaked me as I zoomed into the pic towards my mouth area where I saw my cat Tigers face looking out! I woke feeling totally confused what all that crazy dream could mean. Can anyone give me an answer?

    last night i dreamt:

That i was in a hotel room (not familiar) and my best friend accidentally killed a newborn guinea pig (a potential pet) but it somehow ran away after being fatally injured, and at a certain point i kept trying to 'wake up' as the tone of the dream was unsettling (almost haunting) but when i would "wake up" i would be in the same hotel room still dreaming but there would be changes in the room (less or more people around me) and i had a black cat apparition with bright blue eyes peering at me. and it appeared to me multiple times. I wasn't directly afraid of it but sort of disturbed by the presence. any interpretation?

gellaL - The sense of loss and losing the cat is a part of you. You have lost an old part of yourself and are mourning it. Whether this be a piece of your personality, your lifestyle, etc. Something's changed and your subconscious is grieving over it.

  • gellaL 12 months ago

So i had dream last night about a brownish tabby cat with green eyes. I felt like i knew the cat. And its weird i have a cat of my own and he is orange he was in my dream to but as my dream progressed the brownish cat wasnt there. Only for that brief moment at the beggining when he was being playful.beside my boyfriend.Later on in the dream i felt i was searching for that cat. Like i have forgotten it and i scared i have lost him. I even asked my boyfriend in my dream where that brownish cat was. And he said "what brownish cat? Our cats orange" then i woke up. And all i can see is this cats image in my head. I couldnt get back to sleep. And upon waking i felt a sense of loss. Usually when i dream, i dont really remember all of it. Just certain objects. And from that only a few i actually gey shaken by. Can you help my interpret what it could mean please. I havent been so worried.about a fictional cat i dont have. And probably my first cat dream too. Thank you.

ChrisDiggs13 - Sounds to me like your spirit guide was coming to you in a dream and in the form of your cat. Sometimes our spirit guides take on the form of someone close to us because that is what's familiar to us. And as far as him protecting you, that's what many of our spirit guides do...they're also called guardian angels or guardians. Perhaps you've been feeling a little threatened in real life and your spirit guide was showing you that he will help and protect you. Hope this helps a little.

I had an unusual dream last nite. Could you possibly help me understand it? I do understand some just not all. I have a 4 month old kitten who has been sick for a week. He always sleeps in bed beside me. Last nite I dreamed he was a person a grown person and I knew it was my cat. He was protecting me from 2 people that were following us. What is your take on this?

The black cat might be representative of an opportunity in your life that you might be reluctant to acknowledge or take. Other people might be telling you it's a bad idea but you have some positive feelings towards it. Does this sound like it might be right? Just something that came to me as I was reading your description.

I just woke up from a very strange dream. I was at my front door, opening it to go out. Everything was the same except that it was red and hinged on the opposite side. It opened easily but it was a detail I noticed. When I opened it, a black cat was in the process of trying to run in. It would have hit the door had I not opened it. It was friendly and I didn't dislike the cat but it wasn't mine, so I was trying to close the door to keep it out. This was during the day, and it was nice out. Those are the only details I remember. I think there was another animal somewhere behind the cat, but I don't know what it was and wasn't concerned about it in my dream. I don't know how to interpret this. I like cats, especially black ones. I don't think they're unlucky.

idreamofcats - Sounds like you have a cat spirit guide that is trying to send you messages through your dreams. Perhaps that is the only way he/she can get your attention is to show up every night in your dreams. Ask the cat who might be your spirit guide to give you a clear cut sign that he is your spirit guide...then let me know what happens. You should be looking for the messages in each dream, as they are meant just for you from your spirit guide.

  • idreamofcats 21 months ago

I dream about cats ALL THE TIME. Like, almost every night. The dreams are always different, but usually are set at my childhood home, and usually involve cats that need saving or rescuing (strays, sick or cold cats, cats in danger from other animals, etc). I'm really starting to wonder what this is all about. Why do I dream about cats every night? I don't own a cat anymore, though we had 3 when I was a kid (sometimes they are in my dreams as well.) I love cats, but this is getting ridiculous.

Hi there, hope that all is well with you. I am here today to find out the meaning of my dream about cats. Today on the date 16/05/2014 before I woke up to prepare myself for work, time round about between 4AM and 6PM, I had a dream about being at my boyfriends house standing outside his bedroom door in the hallway, I saw him coming in the house and he had a cat in his arms, and since I am not a fan of domestic cats. I asked him were he found it and why he is bringing it with into the house, he just simply told me he liked it and wants it to live with him. But than I told him what about the puppy, I think it will be dangerous to have it live here since the puppy is not even a month old, I was frustrated. Ok than he putted the cat down it was a White and golden kinda orange brown colour. I think it had green eyes but anyhow I hated it as I knew in my heart that the cat would do something very horrible. The cat than walked by itself to my boyfriends little brothers room which was next door to his room, and in that room the puppy was in there, the colour of the puppy was completely Black and brown on his tummy. As I was standing in the Coridoor way with my boyfriend I saw the cat come out of my boyfriends little brothers room, the cat was so fat, I told my boyfriend how come your cat looks so swollen , than I told him to check his cats mouth he than open its mouth and found that the cat swallowed the puppy as we saw the head of the puppy, I was so discusted. He than did nothing about it. I than told myself that I was going to kill it. First of all I took white pepper and sprayed it all over the entire yard as the more cats started appearing. It irritated them this causing some of them to live the yard but it did not stop the others from living the yard. So I took a red sauce mixed it with Red Pepper and I poured it all over the yard, the cats started licking the sauce than the cat died. All of a sudden the cat that my boyfriend brought in the house jumped out of a hole in the ground towards me trying to attack me, but I was flying in the air, it tried to get me but it could not as I have this ability in my dreams to fly in the sky when enemies try to attack me. I don't know what happeneed then the cat disappeared into the ground, I think I nocked its head I cant clearly remember but it died I think because of the sauce it just all ended. That's all I can remember. It hated me for doing what I did, but rather I also hated it for what it did to the puppy. its so confusing, but I wanted it really dead. Still as I type this I get the chills and still am angry and frustrated, I just wanted to go back to my dream. But I started feeling calmness as when doing what I was doing and I knew that it would not catch me no matter what. Please tell me what you understand by my dream. Thank you.

very interesting stuff, i love reading into this. this dream i just woke up from had to do with a cat. at first i was searching for the cat (it was slim, green eyes, and grey with black spots and stripes) and i was afraid i wouldn't find her, then i found her, I picked her up and ran outside (it was nighttime) I put her down and then i started running towards darkness (or just the other house on the other side of the street) and i wanted the cat to follow me, i turned back and it ran towards me (i felt as if the cat wanted or needed me, i felt that she felt drawn to me and i was drawn to her) anyway, i picked her up and held it close, i felt love and safety with this cat while holding her, but then i was afraid, i looked ahead which was dark with a little light (kind of like a house but i couldn't see very well) and felt fear, i held the cat to my chest and ran back to the house scared, i felt i wanted to save myself and the cat to whatever the darkness was. then i woke up haha i just wanted to know what you think this would mean :) thank you in advance :)

It's a recurring dream. Always some sort of big cat, a lion or tiger usually. It follows me and my brother around. It never attacks but I'm frightened cuz duh... It's a lion... It gets really close. Smells us and stuff and I think I can read it's mind.

Hi Kittythedreamer. I was jolted awake last night by a highly distressing dream in which I had to deal with a vicious, aggressive cat in an enclosed space. The cat was large (about the size of a biggish dog), was white, had flaming red eyes, and was heavily pregnant. In order to protect myself I had to kill it with whatever was close to hand - in the end I cracked its spine with chopsticks. It was so awful and disturbing, I'm really freaked out by it. Any sense as to what it might be about? Thanks! x

I had a weird dream that my friends from out of state (that of which I am close to) moved down the street from my mom into a house I always admired. In the dream all of us (including my boyfriend) went to the backyard where there was a semi frozen pond. we heard kittens so I got in the knee deep frozen pond and fished out 8 kittens that all looked different. My bf and I went inside and went past a kiddy kitchen set and we talked for a second how we need that for when we have children. I started a bath for the kittens to get them cleaned up, put them in the bath, turned to get soap, turned back around and all 8 kittens turned into children and I continued to wash and clean them all up. each child reminded me of each specific characteristic of each kitten but in my dream it was like I didn't even notice the kittens turned into children.......I have no idea what it might mean

It sounds like that cat is representative of something in your life that you're trying to ignore. But the problem is ignoring it will not's there and it will keep coming back until you address the issue. The stray cat that you keep trying to get rid of is representative of that problem. Face the problem and I'm sure your dream will stop.

I dreamt of a normal evening letting in my own two cats for bedtime and another local cat just walked in the house and every time I put it outside I would turn around and it will suddenly appear back in the house no matter how quickly I shut the door and each time I picked it up it would effortlessly climb up the wall and on to the ceiling. It has really unsettled me and I can't get back to sleep and every time I close my eyes it starts again. Please could you help me to possibly understand what it means.

I was in a park with my family, and I saw a wild cat. The wild cat attacked me, had me on the ground and was biting me, although it didn't really hurt and I wasn't afraid for my life. Then the cat morphed into a wild dog, kind of a beast I couldn't identify -- a cross between a cat and a dog. It was still biting me. (BTW I am a cat lover, not so fond of dogs).

I can't find another dream like this one -- any ideas?

G - I don't know if that's a frequent dream, but it is interesting nonetheless. It sounds to me that either you are subconsciously trying to "catch" someone or something in life...perhaps there's a bit of anger behind that desire as well. OR you were a cat in a past life?

had a dream last night that me and two of my kids were sitting in a parking lot waiting on my husband to come because my car wouldn't start. While we were waiting an old man in a truck pulled on the side and said I have some small poodles in the back of the truck would you guys like to see and before I coukd even give an answer he opened the back of his truck and there were anywhere from 8-10 cats. One of the catsnjumped out on the ground while we were standing there and walked around. The others walked around in the truck. My baby boys hopped on the truck to rub them. While another kid who had run up to see held one in his hand that looked infested with bugs. I never touched any of them but demanded for my son to get down.

Recently one of my friends mom passed away and in my dream I was headed to drop my kids off then i was going to go visit her grave site. It seemed as if every time I wanted to either go to the funeral or visit her site something would always prevent me from doing so. In my mind in the dream I was thinking there was a spirit involved that was preventing me from doing so and was trying to keepnme away from my friend.

Can you please explain what this could possibly mean?

I've had cat and kitten dreams since I broke up with my ex (the best move I've ever made, by the way). There's always a great sense of love and the need to protect them, nothing negative except often they are hurt (hence the need to protect them). I love cats, I love my life. I can't work out what this means. Anyone?

Unfortunately, no. That's something that you're going to have to figure out for yourself. Ask your spirit guides to bring you the message in your dreams tonight...they will help you, you just have to ask. :)

  • Cocokate 4 years ago

I must admit that's not something that I had thought of and think your right. I just wish I knew what message the cats were trying to give to me I saw it as a negative thing and I don't know! Do you have any thoughts of the messages the cats were trying to relay to me?x

Cocokate - It sounds to me that even though the dream with the 8 cats was a bit rough/scary, the cat is your animal spirit guide and is trying to get your attention to give you its message. I don't know if that helps, but that's what came to my mind.

    Hello :)

I have recently had two dreams about cats that have really bothered me, I would love your opinion. Firstly I dreamt I was in a derelict carpark and was attacked really aggressively by a group of about 8 cats they in turn pounced on me and I then broke each of there necks I was scared and it was a matter of me killing them or dying the last cat came at me from behind and bit me on the back before I killed it. I am a vegetarian and love all animals.... The second dream was weird I wasn't really in it but basically I had a cat and a frog each of them were like my pets I know I loved them both but the cat was clawing at the frog the frog then played dead until the cat stopped. Anything come to mind? Thanks x

sunchaser88 - Yes, it certainly sounds like the colors should hold some significance to you. When you think of the color orange, what pops into your mind? Happiness? Success? Perhaps the orange cat represents something that is happening in your life right now...perhaps opportunity is knocking on your door...or leaping onto your chest! Blessings. :)

  • sunchaser88 4 years ago

Very interesting. I had a dream last night that I went somewhere to find my black cat and instead I found a bunch of cats and couldn't figure out if mine was there or not since they were all black but suddenly a grey and orange cat leaped onto my chest and curled itself up so I would hold it like a baby. I would imagine there is some significance of the color of the cat and to change one cat for another because it seemed I was not going to find my black cat and this other cat had chosen me....any ideas on that? thanks!

I'm sorry, sometimes our dreams aren't always interpretable. I had a dream last night that I had a hamster that could talk...sometimes they're just whacky!

no, no kids. I looked into all of it and still can't make sense of it. Thank you.

I'm sorry, sweetie. You're going to have to do some extra searching on this one. I'm having a hard time reading this particular dream. Look into symbology of sheep...symbology of the color white. Do you have children?

  • cherry 4 years ago

No I'm not a virgin, but what about the white flock of sheeps? and two of the cats where tabbies.

cherry - I'm not sure what the mouse signifies, but I can tell you that a dream with animals that are ALL the color of white has to signify some sort of purity. Not to get personal or dirty, but are you still a virgin? Perhaps you're thinking of losing your virginity? If you're not a virgin, maybe it also implies that you are in need of a cleansing of the soul and mind. Hope this helps.

I have three cats in real life. One is white, the other is gray and white(my favorite), and the last one is a a beautiful orange cat. In my dream I was in my home, and a white mouse suddenly appeared(I'm terrified of mice)my favorite cat is now completely white for whatever reason and as soon as they see the mouse, all the cats go for it, and before I know it, more cats show up looking for this mouse. So my favorite cat who is now white has two kittens out of nowhere, the kittens are both tabby one has alot of spunk, is carefree, and the other is shy but they are both very loving. I love the kittens, and have fun with them. Suddenly the white mouse shows up again, of course all these cats show up, and I went and petted the mouse, and the mousse was one of my current cat(the white cat,not my favorite cat) and I kept petting it, and the mouse kept purring, and I realized that the mouse just wanted love and affection. The dream gets even weirder, I leave my house and I see the most beautiful flock of sheeps in the street, so stunningly white, but they are chasing me and only me, and not to attack me but they are chasing me. I start hiding in pet stores, and different stores but the sheeps keep chasing me, I call for help and I dodge them but one sheep finds me. So my dream had three main themes, the majority of the animals are this stunning white color(the sheeps, the cats, and the mouse) what does this mean? very interesting but confusing dream.

Hmm... did not think of it that way, you might be right, I do have children and here recently I have been feeling like my youngest is not getting the same amount of attention as my oldest is, you are very knowlegable, thank you. I will make sure I have a mommy day out with my youngest this weekend. :)

Janet - do you yourself have children? Could it possibly have to do with the fact that you are neglecting (inadvertently) someone in your life that might need attention? Maybe not necessarily a child...what about a friend or possibly a project? Those are just my feelings on it.

I had a dream scenario that is not listed. Maybe you can help. In the dream there was a momma cat with 3 kittens in my living room on the couch. My feeling was surprise at first then love for them. I petted the momma and 2 of the kittens. The other kitten was behind the couch and i did not know it was there til i tried to take the others outside. The last kitten was scared of me and tried to run away. I did not catch it before i woke up. I was never afraid in this dream, but overwhelmed by affection for them. I cant find any interpretations for this kind of dream.

epi man - goodness! Are you ever a cat lover! The more I read and learn about sphinx cats, the more I want one for my own! Maybe I owned a sphinx in a past Egyptian life. :)

Fluffy77 - again, thanks for the support! I do so appreciate it.

Latasha Woods - do you have cats? You must!

Lady_E - I've had a few and they're normally the kind where I'm searching for the cat or the cat is calm.

Cheeky Girl - Very true about the fact that cats and women seem to get one another. And mr. epigramman too!

Wow... these cat dreams have deep significant meanings. I haven't had a cat dream yet, but I have made a mental note of what I just read. :)

Very useful, I have been a cat lover my whole life now. Yet, I have had the attacking cat dream too, a very scary one. This, was a warning for me and it helped me too. I absolutely believe this dream was sent to me by a higher power. thanks for sharing again.

...well I got my white deaf cat Mister Gabriel to push all of the keyboard buttons here like a feline Liberace and rate this definitive hub subject up very highly as you have done a world class/first rate job of research and writing here - and the other cat in my picture is my other best friend Little Miss Tiffy who was my mum's cat and she has attained diva status at the age of 14.
