Virgo Sun Sign People Are Intelligent and Witty

Virgo is symbolized by The Virgin, a young (or young at heart) and curious person. It is ruled by the planet Mercury—the winged messenger. This causes Virgo Sun sign people to be talkative and great communicators who are interested in many subjects. They are also restless and not likely to be still long enough to get into a rut.

It is a mutable, Earth sign, which means that Virgo people are sensible and pragmatic. They are unlikely to rush into anything without rational consideration. Birthdays for Virgo people range from August 21st through September 21st, but this is not a hard and fast rule. A book called an ephemeris must be consulted for accuracy about the Sun sign. Many people will say, “Oh, I was born on the cusp, and have two Sun signs.” This is a common misconception; the Sun is only in one sign on any single day. There are cusps, but they divide the houses of a horoscope, and have nothing to do with anybody’s Sun sign.

Virgo Sun sign people have restless spirits and are very intelligent and witty. They are smart and know a little bit about everything, so are good conversationalists, and enjoyable to have around. Ruled by the sixth house, which has to do with health, they are extremely health conscious. Normally a they have a careful and healthy lifestyle, and it is not unusual for them to be vegetarians or to eat vegan diets. They use only the most natural products on their bodies, and are very disciplined as far as diets and exercise.

They are careful to avoid dyes and chemicals, so take care to eat the most natural foods and use cleaners that do not contain harsh ingredients. At times Virgo Sun sign people are unfairly labeled as hypochondriacs. They do indeed worry an awful lot, especially about health, so you must be patient with them. They are very patient themselves, so this is not too much to ask.

Virgo Sun Sign People Love Nature

Virgo Sun sign people love the outdoors, and are protectors of the environment. They will spend hours tending their gardens, happily taking care of their vegetables and flowers and feeling calm and centered while engaged in yard work. It does not seem like work to them. Serious and thoughtful, Virgos always take the time to reason things through, and will stand up for themselves when necessary, but with intelligence, not arguments. Your Virgo Sun sign friends or loved ones are peaceable and compassionate.

They will be very upset if they find themselves in surroundings that are messy or chaotic. They crave organization and order, and yes, all their CDs are alphabetized neatly in a shelved cabinet and put away in a well thought out arrangement. Virgo Sun sign people want their homes and work spaces clean, because they worry about germs spreading, and cannot concentrate when in a messy room.

These are hard working people, who do not mind putting extra work hours in during a crunch when there is too much to get done and a deadline looms. Virgo Sun sign people are a welcome addition to your family or crowd, as they are always interested in learning new things and meeting new people. They just love to explore new destinations. And most Virgos have cats, but you already knew that, didn’t you?

Mental Attraction Comes First to Virgo Sun Sign People

A Virgo Sun sign is first mentally attracted to another person, and will want to see how much they have in common with someone before they get involved in a relationship. Their sense of humor is very good, they do wicked imitations and are fun to be with when you go out. They are perfectionists and fussy, so will not tolerate a slacker! If they really love someone they will be willing to overlook a few little things, but be prepared to pick up after yourself and not leave a mess behind you. They can be quite critical, but they are just as hard on themselves, so try to cut them some slack.

Once that mental attraction gets clicking, they are Earth signs, so do like the physical part of love affairs, and are affectionate, loving and loyal partners. A Virgo mate will dote upon you and take care of you. They are very capable people, and will like to go their own way some of the time, so clinging vines they are not. They are lovable, diligent parents who really talk to their children and take the time to listen to what is on their minds, but the bar is set high and they have high expectations for the ones they love. You can always count on a Virgo in an emergency, as they are kind and will go out of their way to help you and your family. So please be sure you do the same for them.

Crystals That Aid Health and Luck for Virgos

In ancient mythology, Virgo is represented by a tall, majestic lady with golden hair crowned with corn. She holds wheat and poppies in her right hand, and in her left a caduceus, the sign of physicians or medical workers. Virgo Sun sign people make good secretaries, receptionists, lawyers, chemists, or researchers, as they sometimes like to work alone. A gemstone that will be a talisman to protect a Virgo is the Carnelian, which is normally bright red, but can be found in varying tones, with yellows or white in them.

In olden days the stone was supposed to protect the wearer from witchcraft, but in modern times it is said to help the wearer maintain good health, important to a Virgo. This stone also aids in giving courage, and fluency in speech (not that Virgos need any more help with fluency of speech)!

Jade, which is usually found in shades of greens, is another gemstone associated with the sign of Virgo. It is worn as a protection from accidents, and as an aid against stomach and kidney ailments. The finest jade comes from China, some being translucent, and a more opaque variety is found in New Zealand. Jade is known to give the Virgo Sun sign person longevity.

Virgos are the neatest people you know.

Virgos are the neatest people you know.

The Analysts of the Zodiac

The key word for Virgo is “I analyze.” And they do. They mull every detail over in those busy minds that are always operational at full speed. Virgo Sun sign people are skillful workers, paying great attention to detail and taking care to do everything neatly and efficiently. They work hard and are very reliable people, if they do not show up when they said they would, you know something is seriously wrong. If you are out of work yourself, your Virgo friend will help you brainstorm and decide where your talents lie and where you would be most likely to find work using them.

Virgo Sun signs are also very talkative people, and since they cannot just turn off those busy minds, can sometimes drive you to distraction by talking about every, single, trivial thing that happens every day. You can gently steer them to another topic of conversation, or see these people less often or in smaller doses. They do not seem to be able to draw a line between what is worth the time and what is not, and tend to obsess for long periods about little matters like what kind of salad dressing to use, or whether they should cut up the bunch of grapes into little pieces. Virgo Sun sign people worry about little details other people do not even think about.

Virgo Sun Sign People Expect Good Workmanship

Virgos like well made clothes and furniture, and always make a neat and nice appearance. They really admire good workmanship, and will buy the best made things because those are the ones that will last the longest. Virgo Sun signs do their homework before going out on a shopping expedition, and will examine all the labels, asking the shopkeepers all kinds of questions. No amount of research is too much.

Although Virgos are companionable, they can also enjoy a life without a mate. They are not highly romantic compared to other signs, although they can enjoy being half of a partnership if it is a good match. Virgo Sun sign people in a marriage are more like best friends, but that is the basis of a solid relationship anyway. The Virgo will take care of the social calendar, pay the bills, and plan the house decorations.

These are people who are ruled by their heads, not their hearts, although they are kind, devoted to those they love, and always responsible. You can always count on a Virgo when you need help in any way!

Questions & Answers

Question: I'm a Virgo & I've just met the most compatible Gemini woman ever. We have soooooooo much in common. From A to Z. It's crazy. My question is.....according to the compatible mates Gemini is not one. How is this connection I have so perfect?

Answer: Gemini and Virgo are what we call a square aspect in astrology. It causes challenges in relationships, and in individual charts too. But squares in a love or couples situations can add chemistry and great sex too! Also, both Gemini and Virgo are ruled by planet Mercury. It's all about communication. There is nothing better for a relationship than to be able to discuss what's on your minds. Since you are Virgo, you like facts, and take communication more seriously. You can get bogged down in detail, be critical, and not see the forest for the trees. She's your intellectual equal. She likes to learn about a variety of topics, but not as deeply as you do. She's a bit more lighthearted. She can be a flirt and her mind goes faster. My love of 39 yrs. and I had many planets squared. A lot more than just knowing the Sun signs matter. But I hope I helped you understand that communication between you two is the key. If it's not broke, don't fix it!

Hi ayu,

Any New Age kind of store can get a composite chart for you. It's under $100 or around that, but it has lots of info. It won't tell you really bad things, just tendencies, so don't be scared. Or just hold off, money's tight, and try "the talk." Thanks anniversary was nice, still had time to write about composite charts on blog. Thanks for the idea. Being 24 didn't seem young then, people are settling down older now. But I did go straight from living with parents to being married, and sometimes regret that. I wish I lived on my own for a bit. Take care.

ayu on September 15, 2011:

Well, 24 is really young! And congratulations on your wedding anniversary! Hope I am still in time! I think he does think that 29 is too young for him, he is 29 this year! Not sure what is his ideal age but I know what you mean though, totally makes sense.

I must say you are lucky to meet the love of your life at such a young age and still so happily together. I don't really have the courage to do the composite chart as I just can't tolerate if there are any bad information. Or should I?

Well and don't worry about the answers, you can answer short ones if comment box doesn't allow longer ones. I am just glad you even bothered :) I will have to take a backseat and see how I can cross this big hurdle in my relationship for now. But thanks to your advice, I do have some new thoughts :)

Jean Bakula (author) from New Jersey on September 15, 2011:

ayu, another thought they may sound odd. Guys seem to get a figure or age in their head at which they will get married, if they think they want to someday. My husband later told me he always thought he would marry at 24 (years later, we were both 24)! Does your BF have an idea in mind? I'm having some trouble with HP and these long answers, so I may answer others on the blog. Jean

Jean Bakula (author) from New Jersey on September 15, 2011:

Hi ayu,

Don't do the threatening bit if he's pulling away. Just because a person is playful about somethings, doesn't mean they don't take other things seriously. Try to have the serious talk, when the time seems right. Yes about the compatibility chart with my husband, then BF! It's called a composite chart. It takes your and his b-day info, date, time, place, and adds them together, to make a 3rd entity, your relationship. I pulled it out a few weeks ago, and it was so true and so funny! There was lots of stuff I forgot abou--it's our 32nd anniversary today! Any New Age store (hate that term, it's old wisdom) can have the computer kind done for you, and it's not too expensive, under $75.00. It comes with a full explanation. We travelled a lot early in our marriage, and then went to the Caribbean for our 25th anniversary, and have been going ever since. So that, and other stuff was on the money, it told us we would travel a great deal together, and we did. I think with Taurus and Virgo, you would be Cancer together, the homemaker sign! Take care!

ayu on September 14, 2011:

Wow, I am honoured :) I did read your blog and am already intrigued by the book your recommended. I'm fine to leave comments here if you are fine!

First of all, thanks for your advice. Finally I am reading something no one has told me before. People are always telling me stuff like "maybe he is just born unmotivated, what are you gonna do?". However, it is like I know him and I know that he is not the irresponsible, playful person as he seems to be at times. In fact, he is fiercely protective of his family and especially close with them too.

Right and I tend to do the threatening crap once in a while and it doesn't seem to be working well. I will heed your advice and perhaps try to talk serious. I sense that he is listening but he is just not doing anything. Like when we have the talks, he always listens and is patient and never loses his tempers, but he just doesn't follow-up. Probably the Sag-Moon working?

Also one thing curious, when you met your husband, did you do a chart analysis between the both of you and then decide on dating further? haha just a curious question as now it seems to be astrology can actually help people to solve many problems they don't seem to understand!

Once again thanks! Sorry if I am rambling as I can be really scattered when I am excited!

Jean Bakula (author) from New Jersey on September 14, 2011:

Hi ayu,

Nice to see you again. I understand that you need to know how the relationship stands, I can recall finally telling my guy "It's now or never." I think the Sag moon is making him feel afraid that taking a move closer will make him lose his freedom. But with Mars in Scorpio he is possessive of you, or attentive, and Virgos are Earth signs that also like to know how things stand. I think if you just tell him the truth, that the long distance relationship is no longer working for you, you envision a more long term closer one, he will take you seriously. Set the tone and place for a serious talk. Re-assure him that he can still have his friends, or you both need a night out with friends. I seem to recall that's always an issue when relationships are serious and people are younger, they are afraid the one they love will take up every bit of time, and they will lose their friends. Especially guys, for some reason. I don't think he wants to lose you, and don't threaten. Just serious tone. Let your Moon do the talking, this is how you feel, and more important, what you need in a relationship. Let me know how it goes. If you want more privacy, I'm just launching a new blog, the address is on my profile. I only did it a few weeks ago, so it's slow going. Good luck!

ayu on September 14, 2011:

Wow, firstly, thanks for replying! I can't start to tell you how accurate you are as my bf always says things like "I need to feel something in order to do it", which is actually his Mars in Scorpio doing it. It totally baffles me as I don't understand why does he always have to feel something when it is obviously a task he has to do anyway?

Well, he is not really an energetic person as he should be as shown by his signs but indeed, his friends love to hang out at his place even when he doesn't invite them! Probably the good host part at work.

Just one last question from me and hope that you can take the time to answer it, how can I actually make him a little more hardworking and organised and motivated? As right now we are planning to move in together as we have a long distance relationship but it seems to me that he is totally not doing a lot as he feels that it will happen when the time is right. It is like almost a punch to me as I am a Cap-Moon and I totally need to know what is going on and make arrangements albeit my lazy Sun-Taurus.

Please don't find me a niusance and looking forward to your advice :).

Jean Bakula (author) from New Jersey on September 14, 2011:

OK, well first of all, thanks for reading my hub and commenting! As much as I love Sag people, they are a little scatterbrained at times, so you may have hit on why he doesn't act as organized as other Virgos. Sag thinks big and sees the whole picture, so they don't like little details. The Leo rising and Venus in Leo make him charming and likable, also a great host. Mars is how you approach the things you do, how you work, your physical actions. So with Mars in Scorpio, I would think if he feels very strongly about something, then he will take the time to check out all the details, and make sure it all is perfect, or the way he wants it to be. Mars takes around 2 yrs. to travel through the 12 signs, so you may see "spurts" of organized energy from him. Mars is moving into Leo on 9/20/11, so that should up his energy level considerably. 8/24/12 Mars will go into Scorpio, so on both of these Mars transit, you will notice more activity and organizational effort that will last about 1 month. Since his Venus and Ascendant are in Leo, I think the Leo transit will be strongest, and with Venus, maybe something special in the romance dept. is in the air? You did a good job on your interpretation, by the way. All the best.

ayu on September 14, 2011:

My bf is Virgo and it seems like he is very controlled by his Sag Moon it seems. He isn't really an organised person and is really forgetful, also sometimes it is hard to get him to be motivated. Also, he doesn't even look into details like what a true Virgo should? Is that because his Sag moon is really strong? Btw he is Leo rising, Mars Scorpio and Venus Leo.

Sorry my questions and comments are out of the blue but I really hope that he utilises the good sides of Virgo more!

And I really like your writings!
