Sagittarius Sun Sign People
Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign and is ruled by the planet of Jupiter. This results in a person who is changeable and easily bored, passionate about their interests, and has a sunny and upbeat disposition. Their birthdays are approximately from November 21st through December 21st, but that must be verified in an ephemeris, a book of listings that shows which planets were in which signs for a period of at least fifty years. Contrary to popular belief, nobody's Sun sign is ever on a cusp. They may have the planets closest to the Sun in other signs, but do not believe this "My birthday is on a cusp, I'm two signs" business. It is not valid.
Sagittarian Sun sign people are generous. since their ruling planet Jupiter is big, as are their hearts. These charitable souls will give you the shirt off their back, or do anything in their power to help someone in difficult circumstances. Sagittarians love to spend time outdoors, and are also symbolized by the archer. When they aim for a goal, it may very well be a bulls eye! Blunt in speech, they just come out and say what they mean, but it may come out the wrong way and hurt your feelings. This is never the intent, Sag people are very sincere and do not want to hurt anyone. They are very honest and will give you objective advice. They tend to be on the klutzy side or a little accident-prone at times, and are usually on a first name basis with the caregivers at your local ER.
Gemstones for Sagittarians
The gem best suited and universally accepted as favorable for Sagittarians is the topaz. It is found in several colors, with yellow, white, and pink being the most common. Pink is the most expensive and located mostly in South America, but yellow is more popular. The best stones come from Brazil and Mexico, and are also found in India. The saffron yellow stones found in India are worn for health, caution, sagacity, and prevention of sudden death. It is also known as "The Stone of Strength," being a charm against lunacy, and also brings luck and richness to Sagittarians. During the Middle Ages, topaz was known to calm anger and frenzy, brighten the intelligence and wit, and bring joy and contentment. When taken in a powdered form, it was thought to cure insomnia.
Lovers of Travel, Philosophy, and World Religions
People born under the Sun sign of Sagittarius are very philosophical, well read, lovers of foreign culture and travel to other countries. Their ruler of the ninth house is about higher education, so they are avid readers and have many interests. It is not unusual for them to have friends of all different backgrounds and cultures, or to marry someone from another country. They love everyone and know all people are the same inside. They also are very fair minded and make excellent judges. Other good careers for them would be veterinarians, travel agents, philosophy professors, teachers, linguists, philanthropists, or embassy workers in other countries.
Sagittarius Sun sign people love to have intelligent conversations and are open minded enough that they respectfully consider other people's views. They are big talkers, so at least they have smart things to say much of the time! Sagittarians are always learning and have great enthusiasm for whatever their current interests are at the time. People of this fire sign like their freedoms to come and go as they please, and will not stand idly by while anyone else's freedoms are being trampled upon. You may often see a Sagittarian leading a protest in the name of free speech, or for any other issue that they strongly advocate.
They normally get along well with other people, and are welcome guests at parties and social events, since they are good communicators. They love philosophy and enjoy a rousing discussion about various religions of the world, another thing ruled by their ninth house. But they hear the beat of a different drummer, so it's fine to them whether you agree with them or not, they are sure of their own positions on matters. They do not judge people (unless they are career judges) and are well educated on customs of other cultures, especially now that technology has made our world a much smaller place.
Sagittarius Sun Sign Love and Relationships
Sagittarians are attracted to people who have a lot of their own interests, and a few in common with them. They have strong personalities, and do not want to get tangled up with a clinging vine type of person. Sagittarians are really looking for a best friend in their mate, so they can share whatever they like to do with this person at least some of the time. This is their ideal partner—one who gives enough space for their Sagittarius Sun sign to breathe and get out by themselves with friends. They are not jealous at all, and do not understand people who are.
Some Sagittarians marry, but usually more than once, because they really do value their freedom and will not give it up for just anyone. Once they get bored and interest wanes, they may want to end this marriage and move on. Sagittarians make fun and enthusiastic parents, the kind who enjoy finding new things to teach their little ones. They also have infinite patience during the teen years (especially for a fire sign) when they appreciate the fact that their older kids feel comfortable discussing what's really going on in their lives. They can relate to their offspring better when they are at that age, they seem more like real people then. It's almost impossible to find a Sagittarius Sun sign person you don't like, because they are so outgoing and interesting.
Seeing and Understanding
The key phrase of Sagittarius is "I see." And they do. This is the sign of honesty and straight forwardness, and they will listen closely to be sure they really understand your point of view. In a case where they do not agree with it, a Sagittarius Sun sign person will still try to see it your way, which is very gracious. They are energetic and outgoing, normally achieving their goals because of their power of positive thinking.
Sagittarians are serious thinkers, and really care what is going on in the world. They see the big picture, and are not only worried about the area that they occupy. They are very idealistic, honest, just and generous. They must be careful not to become religious fanatics or talked into joining a cult, their open views can get them in trouble! Their natural enthusiasm must be curbed in some situations, and they must not jump to conclusions, but consider all the facts before they commit to anything.
There is nothing subtle about a Sagittarian, they just jump right in to involve themselves in whatever is interesting at the time. They love to travel with their minds as well as their bodies. A Sagittarian can be involved in both local and bigger issues, and must learn not to scatter their considerable energies. They must focus on the few that mean the most to them and where they can do the most good.

Questions & Answers
Question: Do Gemini men fit well with Sagittarius women?
Answer: They are opposite astrology signs. But this creates chemistry. At some point in life, we all have at least a fling with our opposite sign, though it can often be the love of our lives. I wrote an article about opposites signs: https://hubpages.com/compatibility/How-Opposites-A... Read the part about Gemini/Sag. It can tell you more than I can here.

And that's only your Sun sign! All of the planets and Moon were in a sign at your birth, and you have an ascendant. People still think only the Sun matters, but I spend 10-12 hrs..interpreting astrology charts. Thanks for reading my work and enjoy your freedom!

Hi Jean, This article has changed my mind about astrology. You have described so many of my traits. As a retired teacher, I enjoy traveling and I do get bored. I dislike clinging people. Freedom is very important to me. I need to come and go as I please. I can not be tied down. Thank you

The two signs are square, with challenges, but that keeps life exciting. Actually I was thinking of revisiting the Sag piece, others don't read it as much as the others. I may have had an "off" day. Thanks for reminding me. Take care. Jean

My husband is a Sag and he fits some of this. I'd say it's about 65% accurate for him. I'm a Pisces and we go well together: 12 years strong! :D

Yes, age certainly does give the power to say what you think. My son and neighbors tell me I get more like my Mom everyday, she just told it like it is. I try to be tactful, although some of these forums tax me. Every planet is in a sign, so you do seem tactful for a Sag. Maybe it's a Moon in Taurus or Libra, or a Rising Sign in a more tactful one. Thanks for coming over to read something I wrote. Take care.

Hi, Jean, don't follow astrology much, but I am Sagittarius and I wanted to see how many of those characteristics fit me. They seem to be pretty accurate, while I tend to be very tactful in the use of words and do not considered myself blunt.
The most precious asset is freedom, not the mere accumulation of things or approval by others. After a lifetime of having to be accountable to someone or something, being older and retired, now I can say, "I don't care what you think" and live my life accordingly. Now, that is the "real" power.

Thank you so much for reading, Faeriephenomenon. I wrote all the Sun Sign pieces when I first began writing on HP, and am rewriting them to update and improve them. I finished Aries-Virgo, so please check back in about two weeks or so.
