How Planets Affect Us
The wise men of ancient times were subtle poets who loved to pass their knowledge down in mysterious ways—full of symbolism. Unlike modern science, ancient traditions and knowledge affirm that humankind used to live in the world of prosperity, where many people possessed the knowledge of inner and outer universal laws. But then came the time when people lost interest in self-knowledge.
Most people began following instead of exploring. This is how symbolism and the subtlety of sacred knowledge began to appear mythic. At school, we are influenced by programs that teach astronomy. It is difficult for us to see or even to believe in the existence of any connection between planets and our real inner world.
How Ancient Explorers Worked
Ancient explorers paid more attention to the inner world of themselves. Inner events were explored and the connection was looked for in the external world and the universe. And was found, too.
By self-exploring all great spiritual traditions were born. Together with them applied knowledge appeared such as astrology, medicine and crystal healing.
This way or another, the forms of many traditions turned out to be different. But their approach is very much alike. All of them deal with the connexion between inner world and external events.
Our Connexion to Planets
If we start to explore ourselves without getting fixed on physical organs we can discover some energy centers of our psychic body that ancient Indian wise men called chakras. Chakra is a sanskrit word meaning wheel or circle.
You can feel seven main centers inside the body. If we could in two words express ourselves through them, this would sound like this:
All these energy centers are connected to planets.
Loka is a sanskrit name for planet. Loka also means level and degree. Level of life, degree of existence. While becoming aware of all these psychic centers, levels of our vital energy, wisemen found their connection with external phenomena - planets. They discovered that, while the planets moved and took certain positions among themselves, there were either more conflicts, or more creativity and activity. So they defined the character of the planets and their influence through different states of human psyche.
Every planet has its specific characteristics, and right now we can become aware of them and tell one planet from another.
|Chakra||Chakra expression||Planet||Planet revelation|
Expansion, generosity, opening
Limitation, time, inevitable consequences
Peacefulness, bliss, heartedness
Brightness, confidence, optimism
Sensuality, tenderness, spontaneity
Ability to survive, stability
Interacting With Planetary Energies
We can use the power of planets to change certain aspects of our lives. But even before we do this, we should bear in mind how they interact. It is very important to follow the principle of respect towards any force, especially that of planets and energies inside us.
Planets are personalities of those forces and energies. And you can have a relationship with them. Once you get in touch with a force, it is important to understand that it is creative and full of potential. Sometimes this force will reveal itself as creative and sometimes its revelation can be destructive.
This is how the world is. No force can work all by itself. Collaboration is the heart of universal existence.
Loka is not just a planet. It is a level of life, a degree of existence. Our psyche is quite limited while life levels are very powerful. While interacting with planets, we harmonize their energy inside our body.
Take the Sun, for example. What is the Sun energy within human psyche? It is the ability to rejoice, to act and to be responsible. Once you lose joy and ability to act decisively, you get disconnected with the energy of the Sun. This may be the sign of your disrespect towards the Sun.
Or, what is the Moon power? it is the power of peace and ability to give love. When your life is devoid of these things, you probably have lost connection with the Moon energy.

Anna Sidorova & Change. It makes perfect sense too. The color of the root chakra is RED... and Mars is the “RED PLANET” after all!
Daniel Reid on May 12, 2018:
I would have assumed Venus to be the force of creativity and love and abundance and the moon to be a force that helps us to tune in empathically to others and animals and also can clog and cause confusion in many people. I think the planets and chakras in certain areas may need adjusting there. Sorry
Anna Sidorova (author) from Russia on February 12, 2018:
Change, indeed, depending on the school of astrology, we can find different view points. I truly believe that the energy of the root chakra is that of Mars, not Saturn, because it is really the basic and vital centre of our body, while Saturn is the planet of restrictions and limitations, as you know probably. Our third eye is a restricted energy centre - it only has two petals in it. That's why Jesus said, it is difficult to pass to heaven. What he meant was it is hard to overcome mentality. On the physical body the third eye chakra corrsponds to our brain. So to overcome the two-petal narrow passage from mentality to enlightenment is a difficult task. Surely, its Saturn's work to restrict this passage.

Why does one site say mars rules root chakra and another says Saturn?
Anna Sidorova (author) from Russia on February 08, 2018:
Sebastian, the correspondence is different to the order of the planets related to the Sun, because the planet bodies and their energies are judged by their qualities rather than by their physical location.
Anna on February 08, 2018:
No, there is no really the correspondence of the order in the solar system. This is because the order of the planet bodies energies is not related to their position in the solar system, but rather to the qualities they possess.
HBA on February 01, 2018:
Thanks for explaining why the Chakra's are related to the planets, what was your source for that info?
Sebastian on November 14, 2017:
Great article, congrats and thank you.
I would but, ask you something I am trying to figure myself..
How is this order of the planets, analogue to chakras, relate to the common known position of the planets in the solar system?
I expected an arrangement of planets/chakra correspondence.
Mesfink Kassa on March 09, 2017:
I wonder this fact. But i do not know exactly how they are connected. Would you please provide me a link that reveal to me how they are interconnected and influenced each other. Send me via "firstname.lastname@example.org"

Very interesting! This is a topic I've recently developed an interest in.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Brian. Good luck.

Very interesting. My wife checks the planetary energies every morning and she tells me what they're up to. I can definitely feel their weight as they shift around up there. Some days their energies are just too much! It's almost impossible to do anything. I meditate on my chakras every day and I think balancing them saves me from really being pushed around. Good article.
