Taurus Fashion: Intentional Yet Varied
Of the three earth signs in Western astrology, Taurus has the most range when it comes to clothes, colors, and styles. You can wear clothes in earth tones or opt for pretty pastels, pinks, greens, and yellows that are associated with spring. Taurus fashion can be traditional and down-to-earth or romantic and whimsical.
In contrast to Aries, who I'd argue should have outfits that appear speedily put together and a little loose, Taurus should look more structured and intentional. Taurus is known for their ability to organize chaos. They slow things down to a practical level, and they prosper because of their diligence and focus.
Taurus is the fixed sign of spring, so you can play with pretty colors, florals, earthy textures, citrus patterns, and ruffles. What I love about Taurus fashion is you could dress up like a woodland fairy who is lovesick for the moon, a gardener with an array of cute overalls and gloves, or a straight-laced businessman.
What Colors Should I Wear?
Taurus's power color is green, so I encourage you to think of colors you would find in a forest or meadow. Because Taurus is ruled by Venus—the planet of love—you also want colors that project both stability and idealism. Opt for deep muddy browns, light and sandy browns, bright yellows, gorgeous pinks and purples, sun-kissed oranges, ivory whites, and pale silver.
For color inspiration, think about what flowers, spices, and fruits are in season in spring. Taurus is associated with beauty in nature, so the eye-catching colors you find in flowers are a major plus. Many of the spices associated with spring are green: parsley, basil, thyme, rosemary, and mint. Citrus is also associated with spring—think lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits.
Avoid colors that are more associated with fall, especially Halloween colors. An orange that's more pinkish or reddish comes off spring-like. Black and witchy purples aren't really a Taurus thing. Red is definitively associated with fire, and since Taurus is on a mission to be different from Aries, they should avoid red.
What to Wear
Green, pink, yellow, lavender, pinkish-orange, brown, silver, gold, white, earth tones.
Black, red, blue.
Emeralds, sapphires in spring colors, diamonds, opal, peridot.
Ruby, garnet, obsidian.
Floral, v-shapes, cute animals, solid colors.
Stripes, diagonal lines, mismatched shapes, animal print, and chaotic prints.
Cotton, chiffon, silk, denim, lace, fleece.
Velvet, felt, anything too stuffy.
Hair Accessories and Hats
Bows, ribbons, butterfly clips, headbands, wide-brimmed hats, gardening hats, ball caps, elegant crowns.
Fedoras, top hats, anything giant or obnoxious.
V-necks, button ups, turtlenecks, vests, simple t-shirts, blouses, and thick sweaters.
Shirts in bad condition with holes and bleach. Shirts with words, shirts that focus on the midriff, transparent shirts, shirts with funky designs.
Jeans, overalls, slacks, and sweatpants. Pick staple colors.
Bedazzled pants, leather, and holey. Don't wear things that are baggy or too tight.
V-necks, floral, and have buttons down the center. Pockets are a plus! Sundresses, flowy skirts, and pretty colors.
Complicated dresses, dresses with several straps, mini-skirts.
Boots, sneakers, ballet flats, Mary Janes, anything a fairy, elf, or dwarf would wear.
High heels, stilettos, Crocs, shoes with a slot for each toe.
Taurus can play with a variety of patterns. Solid colors also work in your favor, so don't feel like you have to wear something with a pattern to it.
Floral or botanical patterns are a good match for Taurus. Think flowers, leaves, fruits, and forests. Clothing with woodland animals or cute creatures is a plus: think foxes, deer, rabbits, and horses. Taurus's symbol is the bull, so anything with a bull on it is fair game.
The bull symbol also represents a v-shape. Look for v-neck shirts and dresses as well as clothing that plays off "v" patterns, like birds flying away into the distance.

Taurus rules the neck and throat, so you should show off your neck. You could wear pretty scarves with charming colors or delicate necklaces in gold or silver with jewels in spring colors. You could also wear a turtleneck, which accentuates the neck in a different way.
When it comes to jewelry, either go whimsical and endearing or traditional. You could wear beautiful earrings that dangle and sparkle. Small but cute earrings will also draw attention, like diamond studs.
Nose rings are appropriate for the bull sign. If you opt for a nose ring, I'd recommend a little stud, though Taurus can also get away with hooped nose rings.
As for your hair, opt for cute hats, ribbons, bows, and hairpins. You don't need special hair dye to get attention: Taurus-types should go for natural hair colors. Put some intention into your hair, so it'll look orderly. Consider adding braids or curling your hair. Hair gel is a plus for those of you who have short hair.
Taurus-types are always prepared. Make sure you have all the essential accessories covered: umbrellas, gloves, sunglasses, socks, and belts. Carry around a lint roller with you.
Taurus doesn't buck trends, so I would recommend hairstyles that are fairly normal, flattering to your face, and easy for you to handle. Don't go asymmetrical, avoid wild colors, don't shave sides of your head, leave mohawks to other people, and don't look like you just woke up. Follow all of this if you want to project a Taurus vibe.
Taurus can go a couple of different routes here. A Taurus can keep their hair very simplistic and not bother with it at all, or you can put in extra effort to give it some structure. Keep in mind Taurus-types are down-to-earth, so many will want a practical haircut. There are also some who want a tad more romanticism to their hair.
Your hair shouldn't look intimidating, shocking, or sinister. Promote spring vibes, not Halloween.
Taurus goes for the naturally beautiful look. You can add a touch of sparkle or glitter if you like. Don't go heavy with eyeliner. Lipstick in nudes and pinks and the occasional red is smart.
For eyeshadow, opt for browns, pastels, and white. A touch of mascara or adding fake eyelashes is preferred over thick eyeliner. Get a foundation that matches your skin, or skip it altogether and just wear lipstick and eye makeup. A hint of blush will give you a natural look, don't go overboard.
Your makeup should accentuate your natural features and draw attention to your eyes, cheeks, and lips. You don't need eyebrow makeup, but do keep your eyebrows looking sharp.
You can also skip makeup for an excellent facial routine. Wear plenty of moisturizer and buy beauty masks to bring out the natural radiance in your face.
Taurus should have a magical wardrobe with an assortment of clothing. They need items for every occasion, and their closet should be organized so it's easy to find what you need. Invest in quality hangers, buy storage devices, and put dirty clothes in a hamper.
Your shirts should bring attention to your neck whether you wear a v-neck or turtleneck. Light material like chiffon is associated with spring. Cotton is an excellent option in many cases. Silk is expensive, but it will look pretty. You want to wear clothes that you feel comfortable in that aren't stuffy or claustrophobic.
Look for shirts that have something cute about them: buttons, ruffles, pockets, and bows. Even if you're going the simplistic route, your shirts should still have a quality to them that is nice. Avoid tattered clothing, holes, stains, weird sayings, too much contrast, and clashy things. Wear your aged clothes for lawn work or messy chores.
Taurus should have several t-shirts in solid colors: white and black are musts.
Look for pants that are a good fit and don't have anything really distracting about them. You need several pairs of jeans in good shape. I also recommend sweatpants, slacks, corduroys, and overalls. Pants should be in solid colors, and don't get pants that are in bold colors that might shock people.
Leggings are another good option. I recommend leggings in staple colors like white, brown, and black. You can get away with patterns, especially if they're relevant to Taurus—like forests and bulls. Pantyhose are also a plus. Essentially, Taurus wants to look fit in their clothes, so stay away from things that are baggy or tight.
A dress with a nice v-neck will suit someone trying to dress in Taurus fashion. Buttons down the middle will look very cute and charming. Ruffles on the shoulders add finesse.
Opt for dresses and skirts in spring colors and floral patterns. Where Aries is trying to be sexy and confident, Taurus is trying to be pretty and romantic. Taurus dresses should be lovely and still have a down-to-earth feel. Wear sundresses appropriate for school, church, or a morning walk downtown.
Buy jackets and coats in different solid colors. You want coats that properly accentuate your waist and hips. Your jacket or coat can look simplistic and practical or befitting of a royal.
Make sure your jacket or coat has an intended purpose. Taurus-types don't typically buy jackets and coats just to be stylish—these garments are meant to be warm or to protect you from the rain.
If your shoes look like you're borrowing them from a fantasy creature, you're on the right track. Fairy shoes look cute: ballet flats and Mary Janes. Elves wear gorgeous sandals and shoes made of fine materials. Dwarves wear boots and simple shoes for work.
Taurus can wear a variety of shoes. They could wear ordinary shoes in brown and gray. Boots are a popular option, especially if they're not flashy. Taurus should have a couple of ordinary sneakers for exercise.
Your feet don't necessarily need to make a statement. I think your shoes should be either plain or charming, not off-the-wall, overly pointy, sexy, or trendy. You have good taste in shoes, and you buy shoes that last.
